One of the things to take up is the reason why you were so hesitant to tell me what league you were playing in. Where you hoping that I wouldn't find out eventually?

 Oh so by knowing what league I play in is going to give you an informed take on the quality of bowling batting and fielding now is it. Wow why am I not surprised old man,  you have special talents don't you.
The honest truth is that I don't have a clue what league I play in. It's a local sunday league is all I know. We have one Sunday side and 3 Saturday sides.  I only play Sundays as I watch my little man play for school on a sat.

The Sunday League, 2nd team sounds a lot like the "Wynspan" to me, which casts a doubt over the quality of cricket that is being played. The way you were carrying on, you made it sound like it was some sort of significant high quality competition.

To put your position into perspective. This is where your team fit in:

First XI (10 Sides)

Second XI (Split into 11 Divisions of between 7 and 11 sides each)

Third XI (Split into 11 Divisions of between 7 and 11 sides each)

Sunday League: (Split into 6 Divisions of between 7 and 9 sides each)

Premier Division

Division One

Division Two

Division Three

Division Four

Division Five (Your League):

If I add all of that up, it puts you lot at somewhere around 3rd from the bottom in the lowest league that there is. We all know that those competitions are mostly a hit an giggle affair with the p!ss-up at the end, in the clubhouse, the most important part.

 We don't have a Sunday 2nd side you stupid prick. If you only have one side on a Sunday you would hardly have a second side now would you.
As for the standard well you can surmise all you like for you don't have a bloody clue old man. Not sure where you get your stats from but we were 3rd going into the last match.
Why don't you man up and come face the bowling in our league. You live in England and I am more than happy to have you as a guest next season.

 Your club website refer to it as a Sunday 2nd. Be that as it may, it hardly elevates you into the upper echelons of world cricket, does it? Sunday 1st or 2nd..... It is still the "wynspan". LOL

 The website refers to it as the Sunday XI, that indicates it is the only Sunday team at the Club. There is no First/Second etc. There is seemingly but one one Team.

And a peak at the Table shows Mr S tops the Table with his Stats:8 Innings in 8 Matches with 574 Runs, High Score 152 and an Average of.....wait for it.....82.00I think his Batting Average was a cause of discussion earlier, was it not ?

Oh, and this is quite impressive, he shouldn't be playing at all, in my humble opinion....not that my opinion counts for anything. 
But it can be hard giving up the things you love....I have had to learn that in my life and am learning it some more right now.

My point is, and that was why I wanted to know which league he was playing in right from the start, that it is a nothing league that we are talking about. I haven't spoken to him properly for a long time and I certainly haven't spoken about you with him.

And, you might not believe this, but I didn't even know the name of the team he plays for until you posted that info. I only know when he plays and how well he has done. So, now I know something too.

All I know is how to read the stats provided on the website. 
I thought a tech guru like yourself would have known how to do that with consummate ease !! 
Oh, and I don't believe he ever said he played Championship Cricket. I could be wrong though. Most likely am ! 
Just plays on a Sunday and still racks up a jolly good score. Most importantly, he enjoys it. 

 Good on Dave for finding the time to play for a wynspan. IMO the best way to enjoy the game. It's supposed to be fun in the first place!

 I bet the ladies make cracking teas afterwards too
