What a bloody disaster and theGriquas was without the Super 15 players in the Cheetah squad - in other words it was a Vodaom Cup team that beat the Kings..

It is clear that the present laisez faire - laisez passer approach of SARU did not work out - and something drastic is all that would prevent a farce in Super 15 this year.

I think it is late in the day - but SARU should take charge of the situation.   They should look at all other franchises and provincial squads and put together a group of 36 players from those that  is not in the present franchise squads and loan them to the Kings.  Then try and pick the top 36 players from the other frnachises and provinces  and the present Kings and proceed from there to get together a reasonable team.

Other frnachise players would not take part in any contract with the Kings - so the arrangment should be on a loan basis.  Maybe Erasmus and some of his expert Consultants can then get a reasonable team on the road.

There's a reason why the Romanian and Spanish teams don't play Heineken Cup and play in the Challenge Cup.SOuthern Kings will be our equivalent of Japan 1995

Mike yours is an idea for sure. SARFU I believe are in danger of being sued for putting in a substandard team. They would be wise to intervene.

Of course why did a Vodacom Cup side like the queens get in before a Currie Cup side like Griquas. The queens were not ready for Super rugby. The next step for them was Currie Cup rugby. A little fair play honesty and common sense would have helped enormously but was nowhere to be found when this decison to promote the queens to the Super comp was taken.

I feel sorry for the Kings players. Like em or not, they are going to have their asses handed to them over and over again this whole season. Still, fark the Watsons, because this is all their doing!
