It has been reported that Wales walked out of sponsor dinner in protest to the new contract negotiations.

Some really shifty stuff going on over there. They are looking halving players wages. Not sure how they operate but their unions have been struggling for years.

Wales is not a rich region and people are in the lower income bracket generally. It is not like Bath where they have lucrative sponsorships.

They are also limiting players from leaving with 60 cap rule.

It would be really sad as Wales have a fantastic rich rugby history.

On one hand I just wish they would follow Scotland and drop a team. That would allow the cheetahs to join.

Some of the games don’t even get more than 2000 spectators. Not sure where the players think the money should come from.

Looks like their rugby is still run by amateurs

As I said the other day, they are threatening to strike during the England match so that’s going to cause chaos if they do.

Shucks this is sad. Top two towns I visited in UK were in Wales.

One issue is the 60 cap eligibility rule in order  to play for Wales. Tough rule.

The main issue is money.

Ja, I think there is a lack of transparency. If Wales strike, the Welsh union will lose £10m for that game. It is insane how much money one game can make. So it is a £100m per annum just on games alone.

They need to sort out their franchises and quick

Never waste a crisis.

WA rugby player pool is small. That is the main weakness. They are currently facing a gap in talent that could take years for them to get over. Dropping one team would certainly not help.

But hey, room must be made to save SA rugby so...
