Wallabies Have Finally Lost Their Marbles

According to Genia, it's their tight 5 who are their greatest strength and they should surely build their entire campaign around it. Their backline has got to be their greatest threat, in reality. That and their loose trio. The Wallaby pack has been blown away this year. Their set pieces rubble. They have the worst lock duo of the all the RC sides. It seems perpetual failure has finally cracked the poor souls. That or a series white wash to New Zealand. Probably the latter. 

Chieka has to go, he's obviously run out of ideas going by the Wallaby pattern of play which is no different from one test to another. I don't believe he has the cattle and I would suggest he cuts his cloth to the material in hand. The players must surely be losing all confidence in his gameplan.

Sorry - both Willemse and Snyman have played for the Springboks - no chance that would succeed.

They could have gotten Schickerling - but I think that horse has also bolted.

Maybe they go for Willemse and even Du Plessis - but the French may beat them to those two.   They can perhaps look at Kleyn and Roux as alternatives and they have a good chance of getting Vorster  or even Louw of the Sharks to replace Beale  Even Odendaal or Jackson of the Bulls could help them. in that regard.

They can convince the Aussie Government that the SA players are refugees from SA - land expropriation without compensation and farm murders be the norm to be used.  Their prime conquest would be Duhan van der Merwe - if one of their franchises buy him out from Glasgow as a matter of urgency.  Otherwise that could easily would  bolt as well.

I don't like the way the Wallabies approach the game. It's similar to what Rassie has implemented. Very deep and too linear. The arrangement of attacking units eats up space. Wallaby rugby has always exploited space, and when they spread out defenders and play their wide-wide game, they have caused us the most trouble.

I think the last three coaches had no idea what traditional Aussie rugby was all about. Cheika seems to be more and more lost in his idealism by the day. 

They need a reset. Who can offer them that is debatable. I don't think any of their assistants are the answer either. Jake is one possibility, a rather unlikely one. Balancing the ideal Aussie ball with a proper foundation seems to be the best way forward. He understands the traditions. Who else is available? It would be hilarious to see Eddie Jones return. That seems as likely as Jake coaching the Boks again.

Obviously they need a new coach - but will it be wise with the WC less than a year away?   I  do not think it will happen because the time it will take to get a new one can be  nearer to 6 months than to 1 month.
