Former Tasman wing Peter Betham has been called into the Wallabies squad for Saturday's third and final Bledisloe Cup test in Dunedin after fellow New Zealand-born finishers Joe Tomane and Chris Feauai-Sautia were ruled out with hamstring injuries.
It is the second time Betham has been added to a Wallabies squad at late notice this season - the Wellington-born NSW Waratahs outside back was initially summoned for the Rugby Championship road trip to South Africa and Argentina after James O'Connor was stood down for disciplinary issues.
Auckland-born Queenslander Feauai-Sautia made his test debut as a replacement during the Wallabies 28-8 loss to the Springboks in Cape Town last month, scoring the only try for the visitors.
Tomane, who is originally from Palmerston North, debuted in the early-season loss to Scotland last year and has played five tests, including the Wallabies 52-17 win over Argentina in Rosario on October 6, where he scored a superb individual try.
The unavailability of Brumbies' speedster Tomane and Feauai-Sautia leaves the Wallabies with just one specialist wing for the clash with the All Blacks at Forsyth Barr Stadium - the Western Force's Nick Cummins - who is back on deck following a hand injury.
Tomane and Feauai-Sautia are expected to recover from their injuries before the Wallabies depart for their end of year Grand Slam tour and test against Italy on October 25.
The trip to Dunedin is some consolation for the uncapped Betham after he missed the 32-man tour party for Europe.
Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie has already had to contend with the loss of Auckland-born goal-kicking second five-eighth Christian Leali'ifano, who has been ruled out with an ankle injury.
He is expected to be replaced in midfield by Brumbies teammate Matt Toomua and Quade Cooper should start at first five-eighth when the team is named on Thursday.
