Wallaby - All Blacks Game - Real entertainment

This was a very nice and entertaining match to watch - but an expert would have problems. There were just too many loose balls and to many handling errors - especially by the Aussies - that destroyed their game. It is nice to play an entertaining game - but then you must be sure their are no loose balls around - neither is intercepts possible. From an All Back point of view the bonus point is a huge factor in their favour. I would say that Ben Smith was awesome - by far the best player on the field. McCaw had a reasonable come back game - but gave away penalties which was not a good sign. Three penalties are just not acceptable. Cruden played well - but in general there were problems in their forwards. Not wanting to be negative the All Blacks need to improve in respect of the following;- * Their line out play was average and they lost too many of those. Read was their best line out jumper - the rest was iffy. * I am not altogether sure about their scrumming - they looked to be vulnerable their. * There were some gaps in the defence around 10, 12 and 13 - which should be attended to. They are very good - and if they improve on the three issues mentioned - they would be unbeatable. The Aussies has a long way to go - from what I have seen they did well - but for the fact that at times their ball handling let them down badly. They should really refine their game and see how they can improve. Toomuah produced very little and seemed unsure of himself. Will definitely improve with more experience. That brings me to my final point - can the Springboks beat the two teams involved. I think they can - but not with the team selected by Meyer. There are at least two serious weaknesses in the team - namely in the back row and in the lock position. If we go in with the team selected for todays game - booth the All Blacks and the Wallabies will beat us - and that is a fact. ..

 Mike what is apparent is that the ab pack lacks authority. Really the Oz guys blundered badly at times and threw the game away. 

We need to get the backrow right. Snapster idea of Louw at 7 would make a place for Fourie at 6. If Vermuelen gets fit that might be the back row. Arno Botha is also a possibility.

Man I am really looking forward to how the Bok pack can shape up. Bring into the match 22 Malherbe, Du Toit, Du Plessis and Deon Fourie.What a pack of forwards is developing!!!!

Hopefully by 2014 all will be in place.

Beeno If Fourie is as bad as he was last week against the Bulls - he should not be anywhere near the team - we do not nbeed a penalty factory - we need a player. The main problem is not Louw at all - the problem ois in the main with Fatso at 7 - the epitome of immobility, I also think that we have nom option other than Vermeulen at 8 - since Botha is not available at present. I would not play either of Kolisi or Coetzee at 7 - they played against the loosies of the All Blacks and Wallabies (bar McCaw) and they vanished from sight. The only one who distinguished himself in the games he played against them was Labuschagne. He plays much in the style of Read - but is much more active in defence than Read would ever be. Matter of fact in the Super 15 this year he made more tackles than Coetzee and Kolisi made combined. .
