A lossie?

Clevermike thought he was rugby's big brain,
Knew every player's stat and every game’s strain.
But when he’d speak or write, oh what a sight,
Spelling was a battle he could never quite fight!

In English, he'd mix up his there and their,
In Afrikaans, lekker turned into lekke – beware!
He’d post on the forums with confidence bold,
But no one could read what he thought he had told.

"That prop is a 'beest,' he's full of 'steem',"
But we all scratched our heads – what does this mean?
He’d say, "Ek weet van rugby, I'm clever, you see,"
Yet his spelling would make a dictionary flee.

He'd talk tactics, like "Skop die ball ver en hard!"
But his sentence looked like a language discard!
"Clevermike, boet," the mates would all shout,
"You’re a rugby fan, but your spelling's in doubt!"

So now when Clevermike gives a hot take,
We listen for laughs, not for the sake.
For he's got passion, we'll give him that,
But his spelling’s a game that’s gone splat!

Chippo

I laughed about the above - you really are a nice guy.

You did not answer any quetion about the player and I still want to know what the difference between Spiet and Spoed is?     I wrote about speed and as far as I know spoed is the Afrikaans translaion of Speed - what is spiet?  Just cuirious though.
