Watched the 2nd half of that Irish game
LOL, "try assist" is when you throw a scoring pass, not when you handle the ball sometime during a move. You can see Esterhuizen doing the exact same thing at 67:00 against Romania in setting up the Mapimpi try.
Pure skill?
Clearly a well practiced move, Dave. Pulling off that little pass is the very least you'd expect an international back to be able to do.
It's going to be a long two weeks before the Boks play again (if the unthinkable doesn't happen)
I said after the match the Boks were dominant in the second half. It was a match where we threw away a win with some help from the ref.
Of course poor Deus drew all the wrong conclusions.
The Boks were clueless, poorly coached, and shot themselves in the foot. The Irish always looked like the better team, even in a performance which was below their usual standards. There for the taking, and the Boks prove, even then, to be inadequate. Erasputin's reign is become an exceedingly long list of excuses and deflections.
Correction Mpower, Damian is not very strong; Esterhuizen is one of the most powerful players in world rugby. That has been one of the biggest myths pertaining to Damian. He was never a strong or powerful player.
Geez Dave have we got to the point where Dud Allende throwing a perfectly ordinary pass is a cause to celebrate… damn, hold on, you’re right.
You have to be a complete one eyed bullduster to say Allende is not strong. Outright shameless lies.
Esterhuizen gets the edge on strength but to say Allende is not a strong center is pathetic.
No more lies please.
Damian usually gets dumped on crashballs by small backs. He lacks any kind of power. If you tackle him high, or side-on grabbing up, he lowers his upper body and pushed for a small gain into contact. Of course, but the time we have the ball, the defence has reset. There's no fast ball from a Damian carry. Esterhuizen can literally smash anyone in world rugby. How many players can say they knocked Kerevi on his backside from a standing position? It takes some strength to absorb the inital impact and generate enough force to repel him. Esterhuizen is a stronger version of prime Frans, and that is saying something. Frans was a freak of nature. Erasmus is a dumb coach, and that's been a hallmark of his entire coaching career. Taking teams and regressing them. No team has ever been developed and improved. None.
Damian has never had a quality test. There's a reason why he is at the bottom of all time lists for great centres. He is a poor man's Muller.
