I was struck by something Mitchell said and it is indeed obvious that there is a problem.   One must remember that ex-coaches with extensive experrience study the game and know what the players are capable of.   They also have a very good knowledge of he game and they know what shoul be borne in mind.

Mitchell said tonoght that Matfield makes to many low quality tckles and miss too many tackles altogether and that the All Blacks is going to exploit that deficiency.

It reminds me of anoother statement of an ex-coach - namely Plumtree.  Plumtree said Francois Steyn is no center and the poor eprformances of Steyn this year at center - his zero ability to create space and be useful in attack and his high missed tackle ratio definitely confirmed that sentiment.

The other issue that was mentioned - but not discussed in detail - was the missed line kick of Morne  Steyn.  The ball was at least three meters away from th e touchline - so Morne made a  real bugger-up in that case.

Lastly - there were some omments about Meyer seems to be  be deflated after the fiasco last week.   That must come from their commentators in New Zealand.   The main problem is that Meyer perhaps realizes that the present crowd is not going to beat New Zealand and  there is factually nothing he can do about it at this stage.    He seems to be resigned to a Springbok loss.   By selecting some of the problem players and not trying to improve the team, he may in fact only being trying to limit the damage.

I think this game will be closer than some Boks fans believe.
