Watching the Stormers game again - I must admit that

Jean De Villiers had an excellent game and I was wrong insofar as my team selection is concerned,

However, there are some real problems the Stormers will have to deal with.    I think that Kolisi was really one of the weaker links in the Stormers team - he gave away 2 penalties and lost possession of the ball once - made 11 tackles, but missed four tackles as well.   Both Foxsport and rTest Rugby rated him as poor and having looked at the last game he was definitely not up to standard.  

If I was the coach I would put him  on the bench   and use Fourie at 6.  

Kolisi isn't great on the deck, or a really authoritative runner......so he lives or dies by his tackling stats. In this case he dies. But I don't see Coetzee as much different

Disagree, Kolisi had a good game against the Brumbies and a great game the week before. The kid has physical presence, his strength is in the tackle and running with ball in hand........much like the impressive Coetzee

Did you really watch the game on Saturday?  Or did you make up your mind in advance as the case is in respect of most players you favour.?   Did you notice the two penalties the guy gave away and the loss of the ball in possession that ultimately also let to a penalty?   Nothing about the missed tackles at all - 4 of them to be precise.   If that constitues a good game - wht is a poor game in your estimation?

He made 3 runs for a total gain of 12 meters during the whole game - beating i defender in one of the runs.  

Was the TV not showing the rest of the game?   Cannot believe that you missed the rest of the game - because you are completely void about performances of players in that game, as well is in other games as well.

Mama mia made `11 tackles and MISSED 4   - and tackling is his strong point - what a joke.  As i said elsewhere your comments are a laugh a minute - but it was in this case constant for three minutes before I could start typing.

Yep, I dont make comments regarding a game I dont watch you stupid fool. Kolisi along with his other two loosies had great games. Giving away penalties is part of the game, I have no issue with that.

If he was a habitual penalty machine, I'd have an issue with him - he is not.

The lad is a class act, making the S15 side of the week in his previous game.

Kolisi has had a slow start to the season. But As Saffex has already pointed out the previous game Kolisi was a monster. His best game of the season. This last game wasn't his best, but I had no problem with how he played.  2 penalties is nothing.

I don't see how people can say he's not a strong runner after that game against the Chiefs. I would agree he's not consistent with this part of the game. But he is still quite young and I believe he has the tools.

Kolisi has Bok written all over him, its only a matter of time. His strength is his strength......he possesses that rare quality of being able to slip tackles, much like Bismark does.

He may only weigh 102kg but he is a freak in the strength stakes. He needs refining and needs to perfect the art of the steal. I am a big fan.....he was huge against the Chiefs and good against the Brumbies.

 Kolisi has Vodacom Cup written all over him. Schalk Burger should be ready to take his shirt back for the away tour. With Ezebeth back in the team, the Stormers will probably have the best pack in the tournament- that could only maybe get beaten by a Sharks pack including Bismaark and Alberts

Yeah good old hasbeen Schalk......the man who goes charging into the opposition with zero effect. Kolisi is a far better option, he is the future, Schalk the past.........much like Morne, Jean, Smith, Matfield, CJ, Steenkamp and co - all history - past their sell-by date ages ago.

I like your confidence in Kolisi but the question remains - what did he produce in the games thus far this year.  I mean real performance onthe field of play - and not the over-fertile imaginations that you base arguments on.  So lets look at facs as to what he has don on the field of play:-

Agsinst the Bulls :

Against the Sharks :

Against the Chiefs :

Against the Brumbies

What does the above information really tells people of sense:-

*    He carrie the ball  23 times in four games making a gain of 58 meters (ie an average of about 3 meters per carry.  In all the games he broke 3 tackles whilst carrying the balls.   He made no line breks and contributed nothing to tries being scored. 

*    In all four games he made 37 tackles and missed 7,

*    He caused no turnovers in possession.

I would say the above represents the info on a very  averae player - that will not make it  as a Springbok.   He is still very young and may develop further - so the jury is out on that oen.

Mike ou snapster would still rate Kolis as having had a great game even if he didnt play - much like some very pathetic matfield groupies.

The guy is nowhere near Deon Fourie's class at present. He is powder pufff and disappeared against the Brumbies. Wake up Aliistair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Against the Brumbies his game was once again very good.
