The Bulls sign enough players to make 5 teams, and it is going to be inevitable that most players miss the grade.
Only 15 starting positions at any given time than a higher pay cheque at the Bulls to carry the bags
Maybe players are better to stick with smaller unions where they will be certain of game time, where they will get paid less but at least start.
Bullbring might have been good enough to start at the Kings, but he is surplus to requirements in Pretoria and will either ask to be released from his contract or the Bulls willd dump him.
Although, if these younger players are great players, they will stand out playing in other countries-
how many of them are offered the chance to get caps for other countries? Or certain starters in their new teams overseas, and awarded man of the match p erformances.
Some of these young players just dissapear overseas, so they might not have been that good anyway.

Van den Heever was an odd case. Fast, with a good step and physicality.

Some players do disappear overseas and then ends up like Morne Steyn - a player his club virtually used as a starter when everything else fails. And he is a Springbok!!!
I agree with Saffex to some extent. Where I disagree with him is that some young players show promise at Under 20 level and then they do not develop further on senior level. Early promise does not always translate to development on senior level.
I also think that some of the elderly players are played by the various franchises on reputation and not present performance. That is a negati ve since it retards player development for the future.

Watermeyer is agood player and one to watch this season. Sadie also is doing well. he has a good rugby brain on him and he and Willie are quite creative.Van Der Heever was a guy who could have gone all the way. Howard also looked the deal and I liked what I saw of J P Du Plessis. Two class acts thrown away by Coetzee.
