Watermeyer,Serfontein and Stokkies

I wrote a previous thread about how we are currently inadequate at test level comparing ourselves to the likes of our rivals.It seems very clear that Australia and Nzl'nd understand very well the importance of back players combined with forward running.Then there is also the support systems that they have perfected for years.We only have to look at the last drubbing that Australia received a t the hands of Nzl'nd to see how they can for 30min steam roll any team with their midfield players. I still say this and hammer away with it:Untill the time comes when we move in to a new dimension of involving our back line players more,getting them to run support lines ,angles and breeding a culture of creative back play we will continue to struggle with mediocre players that we have.Because for to long we have relied on a forward dominant playing style. So I don't like to earmark players to be potential greats.Not because I am afraid of being wrong but rugby is physical and one can ever predict the out come of potential injuries sustained in the ever growing seasons.One example for me is Dean Hall that was a freak of nature physically but had his rugby career cut short due to a neck injury. But I know some here have their reservations about Serfontein.He is a bit short and called Steppy,but you know what at least he has a step.I am going to stick my neck out and say this guy could become a Bok stalwart.Then there is the two very impressive prospects of Watermeyer and Hanekom.Eversince the Lions returned to super rugby(and rightly so those kings were a bunch of trash) these two players have really impressed me,but I have to say the whole Lions team impressed me.Jean de Villiers was so shownedup in that first match and I think if de Alende was playing most likely him as well.They are young and in seasons to come will most likely play for other unions other then the Lions.Dont be surprised if the Sharks and Bulls invest in these guys even though Watermeyer comes from the Bulls.They both understand seamlessly with out being told the fundamentals of back play.Running support lines,running flat and they have guts a plenty.Just a mention:Jaques Fourie was a Lion,maybe the Boks need this flavor in their style. How Mayer has missed some players and grabbed hold of players that came from nowhere is beyond me.I wonder how much say he has in selection. After the RWC 2015 I would like to see a Bok back line consisting of 15)Le Roux 14)JJ 13)Stokkies/Watermeyer 12) Serfontein 11)Mvovo 10)Goosen/Pollard 9)Reinach/de Klerk.
