If you look at the general tone on this site, it seems to me that after just one decent game, many posters have moved from the "fack Alistair Coetzee" camp, to the "lets give him to the end of the French serie"s camp. However, I reckon the game in Durban will have many returning to the fnuck Alistair camp again. He is not, and can not be a good coach. It amazes me how fast sentiment can change...maybe its just because we are all so desperate for good rugby news. Also, I think a huge part of the improved Bok performance is due to Coetzee's new coaching assistants.
Hey I hope I am wrong and the Boks clean up the French and then take the Rugby Champs....but ja, that ain't gonna happen.

I am not one of them.
As far as I'm concerned he should be shot at dawn.

Taken out back and shot. Doesn't deserve public execution :)

Never really rated him as a coach...mabe a team manager, bit not a coach. I was glad he left WP.

I still think AC is out of his depth but if he can surround himself with quality coaches and support staff I have no problem with him being window dressing. If results are improving and we show some upward development I couldn't care if Stick was the face of Bok management.

On my way to work this morning I saw three chubby traffic officers directing traffic at a circle.
THREE!!!!!!!!
What used to take one now takes three.
At a circle???
My point is that AC shouldn't be there to begin with ... but he is ... and to ensure his lengthy stay they've surrounded his incompetence with the competent. He's employed at the highest level in South African rugby circles, earning a massif wage and yet doesn't have the first clue of what the job entails ... much like those three big bellied BEEEEEEEE appointments at the circle.
I know of guys with bachelor degrees that had to travel to Kuwait for employment.
They're past 50, highly skilled, white ... and there's no work out here for them.
Incompetence is the latest fashion it seems. The more dullards you can employ the better ... and Alister is one of them.

I'm glad you said "general tone" cause I'm not a Coetzee fan, nice guy but no rugby coach. Boks won well playing French rabble so i'll hedge my bets until the conclusion of the series. The only player who looked like a Bok was Marx, the rest were made to look good.

Bluebok you are obviously totally delusional. Just because Dr Venter is improving things doesn't make Coetzee a good coach - we know from his re cord he is not.

Wardad, I'd take PDIVVY over AC any day.
I have a lot of respect for Franco Smith and B Venter, though it is going to be intresting to see how they gel.
At least he has some decent assistant coaches now.
FS is very attacking and "open play" minded. BV is very structured in his approach. Might be great, might be terrible... but so far so good.

Assistant coaches never resolve a poor head coach....I'd hand Coetzee over to John Wick.
