 I think it's our best team this year, but we've not settled into a team yet, so all the changes will be a bit disruptive.  Still think the Boks will win this one....Next week willl be another story though.

I know it's a shot in the dark Denny but the negativism is getting old....how was your US trip?

In a word....Aarsome! as the Yanks say.Started off in San Diego, stayed at the Omni Hotel which as you know is a stone's throw away from the Gas Light Centre. Toured with a group of forty four mostly surprisingly American, one SA couple from the Cape, a couple of well travelled Ozzies and one Kiwi couple. So starting in San Diego we toured for 11 days ending in 'Frisco. In between we visited Santa Barbara, The Getty Museum, Hearst Castle, LA, Hollywood, Beverley Hills, Santa Monica, Monterey, Pebble Beach Golf Course, Yosemite, La Hoyla(spelling?). On our own we visited Vegas and The Grand Canyon then back to LA for a connecting flight to Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos in Mexico. Have some lovely photos of Pebble Beach. Found both Americans and Mexicans really nice people, engaging and conversational.
Highlights....Vegas , would like to visit again, Yosemite is another also Monterey and Cannery Row. We're hoping to do a tour of Florida next year and while we on that side we're thinking of slipping in New York and then throwing ourselves down in the Bahamas.Might even look you up in Chicago.

 Yosemite is an awesome place....one of my favourite spots in the world. Glad you enjoyed it. Chicago has become the de facto rugby capital of the USA ... this year we have NZ vs Ireland at Soldiers Field. And the day before an awesome luncheon with all sorts of rugby royalty speaking including Keith Wood as keynote. Dubbed the lost afternoon you are warned not to plan any other activities.

 I've been pleasantly surprised to see rugby being promoted in some unlikely places. Last year with the RWC I happened to be in a small Spanish village called Tarifa, population less than 18,000...the local and only pub was advertising TV screening of the semi's and final. Then last week in the resort town of Los Cabos I watched a replay of the Bok/Kiwi game, the commentary was in Spanish. Rugby as you know has to compete with ultra popular NFL and Soccer in the Americas so I am surprised that it gets it's fair share of TV viewing. The game is growing for sure, I guess a RWC in the US might one day become a reality.
