In the Sharks - Province game last night - we discovered a new one on the lists of unbelievable mediocrity.   We now have proof that we have our own home-grown Bryce Lawrence here in the referee category.   Hopefully the disgrace as a referee would not go any further and that I do not see him again as a referee.   Two red cards and a yellow was the same as handing the game over to the Sharks.

One of the Red Cards came as a result of an argument between the ref and the player - the other one was plain dumb and not even worth a penalty - leave alone a red card.   What a farce!!!!!!!

By the way the Sharks deserve the win in a game played in atrocious conditions ground conditions - so lets leave it at that

The ref was kuk - but the players had no discipline and the TMO assited in the decisions.  If you strike a player with the fist you are a gonner.  In both cases they were referred and the evidence was there.  Both players will be in for some more hig-jinx.  The WP can only blame themselves for losing the game as a result of bad discipline.

Red cards are a real problem as they ruin a game as a spectacle. Funny to see the sharks battling against 12 WP men.

However getting 8 to scrum (even if only sharkiees) against 5 is dangerous. Red cards need some thinking about.

the rules are clear if you hit a player its a red card. no place in the game for thugish behaviour. That being said i do think the yellow was over board but if one take the game into contest the wp gentleman came to the shark tank with that club player/brawler mentality and got pinned for it. there was a lot of off the ball stuff going on and the ref and tmo was in a corner and had to react. interms of you comment beeno yeah the sharks boys did not over power the wp pack but then again it also shows that your flanks and 8th man dont really scrum then either hey ????

The ref was a bloke by the name of Van der Merwe.  The real problem was Deysel - he was slapping playes in the face and then got a an upper-cut from Sinclair that landed him on his backside.  Best knock-out punch I have seen in years.    Happened in both cases - so there need to be an enquiry why he was playing like a useless buffoon.   But then Deysel is a donkey - and will remain one.

Ive comented before on aleged substance abuse by WP players. The roid rage displayed by the WP thugs on Saterday backs my theory up.

Unless you think punching shd be allowed in rugby then the ref was spot on!

Well said Mike. the donkey got what he was begging for but it is true Jeb broke the rule which favours the twit who did the provcation. these sharkies remind me of the abs like macaaaaaaaw who provoke and get a gentle nudge and then there is wailing and nashing of teeth as to how bad the Boks are. Hahhaahhaha talk about crybabies. The guy proving should be sent off. The present rules favour gamesmanship. There was that silly mutt of a sharks flank hanging on to Tyrone and wouldnt let go. He got a nudge and got off scot free but WP player sent off. The twit of a third umpire said there was no provocation. Go figure. No abs are classical hide behind ref provocateurs and the sharkies have picked up some bad habits I am sad to say.

there was a lot of wp players having a go against sharks players of the ball on the deck as well. the game was full of niggle and the wp forwards does have a reputation in pulling school boy tactics trying to sucker the opposing team into off the ball stuff. they have the we cant beat them on the pitch so we might as well beat them in the carpark afterwords mentality.

i saw tyrone thumb someone near the eye as well a lof of elbow and knees went missing looking for sensitive areas as well. when the sharks played in the super comp as well the wp boys tried to pull that crap as well. jeb landed a world class shot on deysel that would have been great in a MMA fight but he is on a rugby pitch with a host of refs around him....that is just not smart stuff. i must admit the slap by deysel was uncalled for but to retaliate and lose compsore by both tyrone and jeb is either the performance enchancers talking or its just not smart rugby. if one has a issue with player there is more than one way to get our own back
