Ex Supersport

All Blacks captain WEE Richie McCaw has started running and lifting weights (Read tha tas being the bar only) again though whether he plays the tail end of the Super Rugby competition was still up in the air.

The 32-year-old loose forward is in the midst of a New Zealand Rugby Union-sanctioned six-month sabbatical (Hhahahahahaha) from all rugby and will miss next month's three-test series against France as a result.

McCaw had spent some time travelling around North America and Europe during his sabbatical (And what else!!!), which is scheduled to finish in late June, in time for the Crusaders' final regular season games against the Chiefs and Hurricanes.

The six-team playoffs series begins on July 19 with the Super Rugby final on August 3.

"When I'm back playing is still in the air a bit," McCaw was quoted as saying by Fairfax Media on Thursday.

"I'll get these next couple of months training (done), then it will come down to a discussion with (coach) Todd (Blackadder) and what's best for them and what's best for me.

"We'll make the decision going forward."

McCaw had begun running and done a weights session last week but would now look to increase the workload as he builds towards a possible return for the end of the Super Rugby season, though more likely the Rugby Championship tournament involving Australia, South Africa and Argentina that starts on August 17.

"I've got a bit of time to get fit," he added.

"Last week was about getting the dust off. Next week I'll ramp it up a bit. I want to make sure when I'm back playing, I'm in good shape.

"If I get the next couple of months done right, hopefully we'll be in good shape to do what's needed."

McCaw's teammate Kieran Read, who is likely to replace the flanker as All Blacks' captain for the tests against France, has returned from a long-term toe injury for the Crusaders' match against the Blues on Saturday.

Read suffered a partial tear of ligaments in his toe in the Crusaders' 55-20 victory over the Southern Kings on March 23.

The 27-year-old No 8's return will be welcomed by the Crusaders, who had a bye last week but beat the table-topping Brumbies 30-23 in Canberra on May 5 giving them some impetus into the final part of the season.

Reading between the lines I think the English Madam soon tired of wee mcaaaw and his uncultured nz  ways. Ou ritchie then having nothing much else to turn his hand to decided he had better try and get fit again and play some rugby. Not necessary to get too fit as lying on the wrong side is his game of course.

Better luck with the rugby than you had with the Madam Ritchie. Were some oaks saying ou mccaaaaaaw was a role model.     Seems some oaks are desparate when it comes to role models.

You truly are an ass … did you know that?

What’s with all the laughing characters rolling around on the floor? Is that to depict how funny you think you are?

Makes me think of a guy I know who laughs louder at his own jokes than those unfortunate blokes within ear shot.

McCaw will probably go down in history as the greatest openside flanker ever to play the game ... if not one of the top three best rugby players of all time. Awesome captain and an inspirational leader.

Highly respected across the globe.

Personally I’m a big fan of the man. Have enjoyed watching him play for many a year.

As in everything within this life of ours, it has to come to an end sometime or another.

Yet, I’m willing to put money down that he can still out play 90% of the the best opensiders this planet has to offer.

So do me favour you friggin moron … shut your mouth!!

CC, if the Hapless Stompies ever had a flanker half as good as Richie McCaw (you'll have to close your eyes and use your imagination here) then Baboon-ou would turn his enclosure at the zoo into a shrine to that player and he'd spend his days jerking himself off while dreaming of bearing that mythical flanker's children.

Every post Baboon-ou ever makes on this board demonstrates his rank stupidity and his complete rugby ignorance. This latest effort of his where he slags off one of the greatest players of all time is no exception.

Clean and rooitwit he may be a role model in your eyes but not mine. In purely rugby terms he is widely called mcheat.  Nope no role model this one.

Sorry deal with it and if you dont like what I post dont read my comments.

CC you calling anyone a moron/ass is a laugh!

Damn Rooinek!!!!

Using my imagination as suggested has just put me off my lunch.

Images of him swinging around hand over foot in his enclosure … with pecker in hand is … well … just not right!!!

Do you know if he’s managed to pass his seed on? Tell me there aren’t any young baboon-ous out there?

Tell me that there’s hope for our society and that this deadly strain of stupidity ends with him!!!

CC, I'm guessing most of Baboon-ou's seed ends up on the Abby Elizabeth poster he has at the end of his bed.

Don't mind "wee" McCaw or wee Blacks reference Beeno, mainly because the "big bad Boks" and SA rugby are absolutely owned by the "wee" Blacks. Sticks and stones man, sticks and stones!

@shezza,
kiwi hood??? nah u got it wrong there buddy and on two different counts no less. there are saffa here picking on ol storminged too, so that rules out the the kiwi connection, a more accurate name would be anything with an IQ in the double digits or higher clique, dosent have quite the same ring to it, but it does more accurately reflect the situation, :o)

this is nothing really, u should see what happens when thats said on a kiwi rugby site, every reply to it would come with a warning saying, the following posts contain graphic verbal violence which will be harmful to ur eyeballs, LMAO, :oD

beeno1 aka stormingeds a big boy, hes no stranger to his cyber clown pyjamas he loves to wear and can more then handle the attention he gets, but has long craved from McCaw to give to him,,,

sniff sniff ,:o(

Shezza the kiwi bird brains are a lot of fun and I do not take anything personally of course.

As for mcaaaaaw well I wish him well and sincerely hope he plays for the abs for many more years. Indeed long live Woodcock, Mealamu, Hore, williams, Nonu, Wee conrad, second gear and all the others.

Beeno as sporting as ever!
