Another test with a significant momentum shift at half time and this time it swung to the Bokke. Much better performance from the Bokke and much more fire in the belly.

Who knew Trevor Nyakane could be such a monster at loosehead? Wow! He played less than a quarter of the match but was a candidate for MotM.

Hope there's a lot less whining and bitching this week and we can look forward to a great decider in a week's time.

Well done Boks. Good 2nd half.

Yes, I mentioned on a thread earlier this week that Nykani is better at loosehead, even though he is solid at tighthead. He is a swinger that must be on the bench. He is more effective in the loose than many props, making him a good impact player.
Overall the impact players/bomb squad did well. Marx looks like he's starting to get back to his best form which is offsetting the loss of Vermeulen at the breakdown. Marx should start he first test, and perhaps play the whole game if he is in the form of this test.

Congratulations Boks on a fine win. Only saw the 2nd half but the Lions weren’t allowed to play and had no answer. Bok scrum demolished the Lions once Nykani came on!

Makes a big difference when your loosehead has Lood vs Mostert behind you. Also having Marx at 2 is a huge bonus I keep banging on that Mostert is not physical enough for test rugby and he keeps proving me wrong Trevor has been a bloody rock in the scrums for some time now, had a bit of a dip lately but he is back to his best Very handy having him able to pack down at 1 and 3

The bench was not so significant. The Lions failing in their efforts to win the kick battle is where momentum was lost. I don't understand why they persisted with this. Gatland failed the Lions here. The Lions had the physical edge for 60 minutes and were far more dangerous on the ball. A missed opportunity.
