Winning three of your four away games in Australasia showed how really miserably poor the rest ofthe SA franchises are.   The Stormers are wicked - they have the worst coach of all.   The Sharks may yet come right - aftr all they dropped th handicap in their backline and may start winning their games.   The Bulls were pathetic today - they also have their handicps shown up today - must I say once again - Engelbrecht and Mapoe.

After today I think the Sharks may top the SA Conference log - with the Cheetahs well place to be second and the Bulls third , the Stormers barely escaping being bottom.   Play-off time the Stormers against the Kings is on the cards.

as always your on the money mike

the cheetahs showed some great form with the least amount or resources to there disposal. playing a superior game pattern and having a great skillset to match it they are showing the way forward. really hope for there sake they can keep it going

Unfortunately I think the Cheetahs will fade towards the end of the season, and I suspect that fade will start immediately. The loss of Goosen and their lack of depth will unfortunately catch up with them. Having said that, they have done very well, especially when taking into account their lack of resources. Also, winning three out of four games overseas is no small achievement....even if against the weaker teams.

Smit at 10, is not Goosen, but he is a more than useful player. In Lood de Jager, the Cheetahs have found a real gem at lock. Nkanyane is a quality prop and once Coenie is fully fit to start, the Cheetahs will have a formidable frontrow in Nkanyane, Strauss and Coenie......we should also see Bulls export Russouw de Klerk at 3 sometime soon - he is a good prospect.

The Cheetahs have real quality in the loosies - they do not come much better than Brussouw, Labascagne and v/d Walt.

They are solid enough at centre, although Sadie has failed to make an impression sadly. They have clout out wide with Rhule and le Roux.

As you say, they lack depth. Their starting 15 is useful - but depth is an issue. Ryno Benjamin for instance on the bench is a liability

It is sad to see a team like the Cheetahs in the position they are in. They unearth some really speacial players, and then the Bulls, Stormers and Sharks just whip out their cheque books and pilfer the Cheetahs talent away. I don't think enough credit is given to players like Juan Smith and Brussouw, who remain loyal to the Cheetahs, even though they must have countless, much more lucrative, offers from other unions. Imagine the strength of the Cheetahs if they were financially able to hold on to their talent. Although, I guess the same could be said for the Kings. Such is life in the professional era.

I agree regarding Nkanye. Coenie is an awesome talent! Injuries have taken a toll on him, but I think we are yet to see the best he can offer. Cheetahs loosies are also a revelation this year. Brussouw has always been a favourite of mine, and I just hope meyer sees the light and includes him in the Bok setup. A fetcher is vital, and the most effective loose trio is a specialist fetcher at 6, a big bruiser at 7 and a big no.8 that is still mobile enough to tackle, run at the opposition and do his part with the dirty stuff on the ground. Well that is my opinion anyway.

I know Os has said that Coenie is freakishly strong and one sometimes witnesses this at scrum time. He is the only prop I have seen that sometimes gets himself into a position where he has lost the initial hit, takes contact and then gathers himself and turns the tables on his opposite number through sheer strength.

He is tall and needs to work on his body position at times. Tall props are often penalised for hinging, if they dont get low enough on the hit.

Agreed on Brussouw and his involvement with the Boks, its a must - as is a true fetcher in the game
