An unexpected but very good win against the high-flying Hurricanes.
As an indication of how unexpected the result was, every single player who entered picks in Total Rankers this week other than Dense included a Hurricanes win.

if our sides showed half the skills and intelligence of the Jaguars we would be doing very well indeed. Their backline play is vastly superior to any SA side. What the heck is going on here that we continue to field backlines that don't perform and are so obviously sub par!
Didn't help my total rankers but didn't hurt it either with everyone else picking them as well but with a win over the lowly Stormers this weekend should seal top spot and a home final for the mighty Crusaders so not unhappy with the result.
Hope the Storm ers give the hapless old crust a frightful afternoon! Gooooo Stormers
I've had a good run out of the 'Canes but I had a funny feeling about this one mostly because I'd started to notice some weaknesses or lapses in their game in the last couple of weeks and for a moment tbh I was tempted to go for the Jaqueres....Dang! In the end I decided to give the game a miss. Double Dang!!
Denny I also had a feeling that the Jaguares would win this one for 2 fickle reasons, 1.They are a class side and 2.they seem to travel well and perhaps a third...they could have won last week bar a few stupid errors.
So far the logs show that the loss percentages (I don't use the win percentages because draws upset the figures...the Saders have 2 draws. They are :
1) The Crusaders 8.3%
2) The Hurricanes 23%
3) The Jaguares 36.4%
This is based obviously on the games played...ie the Bulls lead SA Conference by 1 point from the Jaguares but the Bulls played 12 whilst the Jaguares 11.
Loss ratios/percentages give one an indication how good a side is in consist ency...it looks like the Crusaders stand out and they will definitely be the ones to beat.
At this stage my call for the final would be a first Crusaders/Jaguares.
History is there for the breaking.
Much less infringements from the Jaguars and this time the Hurricanes got the yellow card.Creevy a major influence again for them.
Well the Jaguars are at last finding their foothold on the Super Rugby platform and getting into the rhythm of things and finding their mojo...it took some time to get there but they have arrived and I believe they will be up there at the end.
They are a very classy side but they have the Latin temperament and this blows hot and cold...like French/Italian rugby players and seen especially in football players of southern european countries.. When they fire they really do but have their lapses when things go wrong. They have a reasonably easy run from now on and I think they will finish top of SA conference.
That's my call.
