Here's a link to an article on Stuff.co.nz this morning which appears to show the Welsh halfback on side before his intercept and runaway try.

He's probably marginally off side as this picture is taken but it all depends where the hindmost foot is of the Welsh player in the ruck.

It also depends which Welshman is regarded as still being part of the ruck as at least one, possibly two could be viewed as just standing there and not joined.

Also in the halfback's favour is that Genia has already picked the ball up and is well clear of the ruck,  so you could probably put Davies a further metre back when Genia first lifted the ball.

So all this crap about 3 metres off side is one huge exaggeration!!

Thoughts Pedsman??

honestly I could cop it better if was reviewed by TMO at time of the event - but fact they stopped play for ~4mins for Kerevi incident and then didnt even refer to TMO is incompetent at best.

Genia was slow and took a step or two before passing and any 9 worth their salt would be onto this...

I have had a crack at slowing down vision on foxtel and to me he still appeared at least a metre offside when ball still at base of ruck / back of maul.

Having had a bit of experience at the back of a maul or two I think this area of the game is very open to interpretation.. more that 80% of the time half back has his hands on the ball or kicks the ball back into the ruck etc - unless I dont know the rules - as soon as player touches the ball it should be play on.

In short - can cop the lose as Welsh played good tournament rugby (ie drop goals and didnt miss shots on goal unlike Foley's lame first conversion attempt...) Would have liked to see TMO review this try given his enthuasism to side line Kerevi for something Ma'a Nonu made a living out of for 15yrs.......

I only ask for FAIR go !

Opposition cannot go for the ball until the halfback has actually lifted the ball.

I can't remember whether Genia picked it up from the deck or it was handed to him.

I think was handed to him... no question he was slow - so can nearly cop it sweet - just would have liked TMO involved...

My mate who only watches NRL watched it with me and his comment re genia was "he's slow"... so fair indictment against genia - he's at the point in his career like Gregan got to where takes a step sideways before passing... so punishing...

Nick White has been my favorite aussie 9 for 5yrs probably... and Toomua at 10 also been my preference... even JOC would be better at 10 than Foley or Lelifano

Either just on or just off from that angle. Probably worth a referral but the officials were in the best position to judge I guess, and they'll only refer if they're not sure. The replay angles on TV only showed his position once Genia had already taken a step away from the ruck, and by that time Davies was already a good meter or more ahead of his line, which looked suspicious. The shot in the article looks to be just as Genia gets the ball, so that should clear it up.

Hindmost foot at the ruck is Wales #1 as seen below.

I can't remember whether Genia picked it up from the deck or it was handed to him.

Picked it up as seen below. Had he passed immediately here instead of taking a nice big step or so first he would have gotten away with it. About half a second elapses between this shot and the wide pan in the article. I think it's safe to say Davies was fine.

Davies is about 4metres behind Poite (hes not even in this pic above...)

... fact remains should have been checked considering Romain not even in a position to call it... definitely cheating prick TMO... good one lad...

Yeah Poite was unsighted, but I guess it was the assistant's call. Anyhoo, water under the bridge and it looked fair in the end .

about as much water under the bridge as every other dud call the wallabies get - so yeah I'm use to it... even though the kiwi perp (TMO) couldnt wait to intervene for Kerevi's hit up...

I seriously hope the kiwis have to face a water under the brudge moment... will laugh so very hard when it happens...even now makes me feel better thinking about that glorious day....

Haaaaaaaaaahahahaha!!

We have crybabies in South Africa (TailGunner Pete and BeanDip) and it seems we have a host of them in Australia too ... even the Ozzie coach was crying "no fair" before the world.

Wow!! What a dick!!

Well ... Congrats to Wales. They did enough in the first half .. and then managed to keep the whinging Ozzies out to score a fine win.

Enjoyed that match immensely .

Pity that Uruguay came unstuck.

I'll be watching the game again today...minus being on my phone to post updates.

Need to figure something out because one missed much of the game when you do that. Maybe voice to text.

Red, there were massive positives for Oz in that game. A few knocks aside, Australia played as fault free a game as I've seen any team play this year.

In the first sixty minutes they were only penalised four or five times...with the majority of those being debatable, highly debatable.

And not enough can be said about how they mauled Wales for the second forty minutes...making hardly any mistakes.

Despite the win, Wales dropped down in my estimation. And like you, I have zero against them. They're just not that good.

Every time you raging queer. Every time.

CC here's how this will go...

I will say. Show the thread where I did as you claim here...

"You on the other hand thought it cool to come aboard here and boast how you sodomize your girlfriend. Why did you do that? Were you hoping for our approval?"

You will say...I don't need to. Everybody knows it. You know it. And I know it.

Again, I will say, well then just put up the thread and prove me wrong.

You will not be able to be because it doesn't exist.

You will resort to more adhominems because that's what small brains always do when there's no evidence to back their claim.

The evidence, well it will never appear.

Here's some incentive for you, or anyone else on the board.

I will pay R10k to you or any other member that can pull up the thread which backs up your claim. And I am am dead serious.

So, the question remains.

Why you are so obsessed with gayness, dicks in rectums etc etc

BECAUSE YOU ARE A RAGING HOMOSEXUAL.

Want me to pull up yet more threads where other, people, not me, but other people in totally unrelated posts have noticed this?

I'm fine with it if your like boys.

It's your life.

But for the love of God stop projecting it on to others you absolute soft fabric loving queen.

Here's another...Just for good measure...people are on to you bro. They have been for a long time. It's beyond obvious now.

Now, if us, as people that only know you on here can see right through you...imagine how long your colleagues, family and friends have known.

Yes, mate, they know that pink shirt you wear sometimes isn't being worn ironically. They notice how you are extra perky on those days.

Again, and for the last time, get some capital P in ya and leave hetero people alone.

Ok...Sheila?

CC and Tard clearly should share a room in the retard institution... then they can spit and lick the windows together...

weight of evidence is obvious but if you cant see it then clearly very low IQ and low values.

The game was close take the TMO ref out of the equation and aussies win... have moved on just cant wait for the river of tears when the kiwi sacks get the raw end of the stuck... its coming sooner than later... QFs or SFs maybe....

When you say take the TMO ref out of the equation .....are you saying the TMO is a ref ..........or the ref is a TMO..... And is that the same ref.....TMO .....that you whimpered and snivelled about reviewing the offside??? Like fuck you’ve moved on............waaaaahhh!!!

I'm with Redsman on this - He was clearly offside. But TMO didn't call it which is a shame given he spent previous 5minutes playing shot after shot of how high the Welsh go on their tackling the ball carrier.

Well done Hacked waaaugh.

By the way Redsman you may recall me saying how impressed I was with Ozzie pack and gamr

Well Warren Brosnihan, a Bok, who was on the Supersport panel said how good the Ozzie scrum and pack were and how dangerous the backs were. Said that secondhalf was an incredible performance.

Said Oz are a real contender.

So pay no attention to trad 2 year old and queen cc the kiwi wannabee and of course the boards clown rooibozo. Hahahahaha

I'm with Redsman on this - He was clearly offside.

Why was he offside? The footage pans to this shot roughly 0.5 seconds after Genia removes the ball from the ruck. The offside line is behind the hindmost feet at the ruck - Wales #1 in this case. Even 0.5 seconds after the ball emerges from the ruck Davies is still only on the offside line, or taking his first step over it. Before taking that step, which would have happened about as the ball came out, he would have been well behind, in line with the players to his left.

point is should have been referred but wasnt, thanks hakwa shows fairness what u say.

if he was onside fair play and genia benched as i am not a big fan of him anymore anyway..

welsh arent going to be a genuine threat tho as they were pretty average vs a very average aussie team for 40mins...

but... they do have the good side of the draw now... only hope theey get sortedbefore the gf or will be boring finale

Thanks Pakie for a clearer picture. Davies definitely on side from that last pic given Genia had already received the ball! Makes Pedsman’s whining about “why didn’t the TMO review it?” completely pointless and a non event! Hasbeeno, don’t trip over your white stick when feeding your Labrador tonight, there’s a good chap....

If you look at the overhead shot it's pretty clear this was just brilliantly timed. In fact if you draw the parallel lines.....the inside players were closer to offside than Davies was. Hard to criticize the refs when there was no fault, although in real time it was so hard to fix, a review might have been prudent.
