T players he wrote up over the last two months were exactly the failures today. His praising of Esterhuizen was totally discredited today.
Must either try to find another fairy tale to amaze us all or he is trying to concoct another user name.
Esterhuizen was our best defensive back. Our strongest defender, alongside Steph . Absolutely nothing was as you predicted.
When did Toomua run Grant off his feet? Where was Grant porous on defence? Where was Grant weak in contact? Where was Grant a poor carrier?
Grant, once again, outplayed every test Damian has ever played. You lost this one. It was an easy call to make, and you went the wrong way.

Esterhuizen was indeed solid. He didn't set the world on fire but made good defensive reads, carried the ball up well and has now played his fifth game without making a single mistake of the calibre that we're used to from Jessica and Lindi.
Jessica on the other hand, had already missed 2 tackles and chucked a ball into touch by the ten minute mark. IE fluffed a great try scoring opportunity.
Does ranyone have an idea why Rassie persisting with him?
Guy has more caps than anyone else in the back line but just can have a solid game.
Surely somebody else needs a chance. If anyone has not made the step up...despite four years of chances, it's her.

I am not happy with either centers who played yesterday and think we need a player to back up De Allende at inside center and Esterhuizen is not the answer. Believe me he buggered up things yesterday and his defense for a change was better - but even in that case he was questionable since some rather late tackles occurred and he was run past him a couple of times where he at least should have tried to make tackles which he did not. For the rest he did squat of anything noticeable other than losing ball possession and giving away penalties.
I have no answer as to the outside center. Our world experts is stuck on Am - but he has done preciously little as well.
There is a bloke by the name of Simelane who was center in the Under 20 WC this year and also played off the bench for the lions who in fact may be the answer at 13. He should to my mind be given more playing opportunities by the Lions. Watch out for him in future.
At center I also like Serfontein and he may be the option used when he recovered from his injury. He is likely to be in the EOYT squad this year.
For the rest there are very few options meeting the eye. Our World experts on site will probably start a new refrain about Fat Fransie - but he is on par with Esterhuizen and as Plumtree said - he is not a center at all.
I think another 13 option is Venter - but playing outside of SA am not sure how he is progressing at present,
Frankly the only alternative at present is a De Allende - Serfontein combination - with Simelane a future option.
I think most would prefer Serfontein Mike.
We need to get Combrink into the Boks.
Maybe he can replace Jessica. A much better defender, ten times smarter, understands space and will link up better with the wingers. Also has a long boot.

With respect - Kwagga is no center and I cannot see how he will strengthen the backline. A nice dream about possibilities though - one which will not be realized.
I am a Combrinck fan as well and he may yet be the answer at 13. He has the physical strength needed. He reminds me a lot of Reece Hodge of the Aussies. However, without proven record of him playing at 13 on SR level it is unlikely to happen.
Watch out for Simelane at 13 in future. Hope the Lions bring him through quickly.
Agreed, Kwagga at centre, either position, should be an extreme gamble. I personally wasn't impressed with his performance against Wales. I don't think there is anything to explore there. Combrinck at 13, from an attacking perspective? It's interesting. How would he hold up on defence? That's where these projects come unstuck time and again. We need a specialist. Am is the best new 13 we've fielded since Fourie. We should allow him to continue the good work he is producing. Kriel just isn't working. Just as the Damian experiment isn't working.
Combrinck, like Andries Coetzee, does not belong in the bok side....Good players, but we've got better.

I think you need reading lessons.
Listen - the fact that Beale made an error by making a poorly . directed skip pass was seized by you as an opportunity to use Esterrhuizen as a reason for the skip pass. That was exactly what you conveyed in one of your postings elsewhere. I just shortened the description by you to put it on a factual basis.

Esterhuizen and Am are the first centre pairing, since Jean and Fourie, we can use to exert pressure and play Bok rugby. More useful on attack than Gangnam and Jessica. Esterhuizen is deceptively quick for such a big man. Packs a hell of a punch. Against Wales and England he was tossing around locks and hookers etc. Am is quite strong himself. Both read play well. Am is the first outside centre since de Jongh, Fourie and Joubert that can read play and defend. It's amazing how little value real talent has in South Africa. Damian and Kriel would never make into All Blacks, English, Welsh, Irish, Argentinian or even Scottish side. No surprise that they are outplayed by these players.
I am sure that the BSters like you would think he was a good as you make him out to be. He was solid in some aspects of defense and totally useless for the rest. Houwing in his assessment said some of the tackles he made was late and h e mentioned 2 - I saw similar tackles in the region 5 to 6. There are serious question marks as to why he was not penalized for that as well.
I saw three cases where players ran past him with zero tackle attempts on them. Against the AB's with their better ball players it is going to become an ugly saga.
Every word that trickles out of your mouth is a complete and deluded fallacy. Every last one. We can see your treachery more clearly when you defended Steph's defensive lapses that I correctly pointed out. Or the complete capitulation of Damian. You supposedly have high standards for defence, but you promote the worst defenders in far to many instances for that to be true. You are often contradictory in your ramblings.
