What a backline
l look forard to that one!!! Pace galore
but can they tackle?
15. Fassi - Great under the high ball, but still doesn't get into the right position to tackle and still slips off too many like he did against Portugal
14. Kolbe - Struggle against bigger wingers, but he did improve in the recent years and very smart and hard working player.
13. Moodie - Rock solid and can knock players back with his size, but got exposed in there URC. Very hard channel to defend
12. Willemse - Very good at stepping, can tackler and chase players down. Better at 15, but also had a break out season for the Stormers at 12. I prefer a bigger more physical 12.
11. Arendse - For his size, better tackler than Kolbe
10. Sacha - Untested, but better than Manie.
9. Williams - Not as ferocious as Faf, prone around the ruck. But again, a lot of pace and good on cover defence.

With all due respect the team had to play with 6 bakline players actually playing and that twould upset defense badly, It is very difficult to get other plauers to fill all the gaps all the time. I saw deficiencies in defence - but believe it was due to my reason gven. .
Faff not playing is good, as it is refreshing to see new players as well. Also his up-and-unders are poor , and just hands over possession to the opposition without any possible competition.
That backline is a no brainer.
Not a knock, I used to think that Arendse is express speed but having watched him against Portugal it's clear that he's quick but not express quick.
Also think Faasi has bulked and lost a yard and so has the wily Kolbe.
There's so many good loosies around which makes it hard to pick the best three, Van Staden doesn't cut the mustard in Bok2024. It's cruel that there's just too many in almost every position.
Will we ever see a speedster like Habana again. To me he is one of the top 3 wingers of all time. Lomu, Caucacuacbuni and Habana. However, Habana had longevity Caucau had stops and starts to his career, but that guy, when he is on he was on and no-one could stop him. Lomu faded towards the end, but we all know that his kidneys couldn't carry him.
But just who in the world have genuine pace. Seabelo Sanatla was probably the fastest player in the 15s game but Bundi Aki put an end to his career with dumb clear out to the back of his head.
I am always rather old-fashionedas to whay I believe wings and full backs shoudd have/ To my min d here are acually three issues, namely -
* pace
* ball sense; and
* reading of the game to deide n attack lines,
combined the three is dangerous for all opposition - but it must also be brne in mind that especially the latter two develop through experience. That is what made Habana such a star performer,
Kolbe had gained experience - but Arendse needs more. and so does Fassi,
Wen it comes to centers the outside center must be close to the wings requirements - while te inside center needs to be a playmaker or decide on drawing in defenders and either go down and ensure quick recovery of the ball for the attack to continue. That is why a physically strong 12 is needed and it helps if he canrecover opposition balls in breakdown situations as well/

Hahahahaha….Wanker thinks wings need pace, brilliant.
