Crotty's injury, which add to the absences of SBW and Ngatai, is a huge blow for the AB.
The backline needs to be reshuffled and for that matter 3 youngs with very little experience or no experience at all have been called, Reiko Ioane, Damian McKenzie and Seta Tamanivalu. Anton Lienert-Brown (another young with no test experience) was already in the team.

IMO is very risky to start any of these youngs at 12-13. These are positions where experience and defensive ability are required, something those players don't have. T amanivalu showed deficiencies in his tests played in June, Ioane playing wing in SR showed also defensive gaps and positional failures (12-13 are emore exigent defensively) and I didn't see enough of L-B but he has just started 15 SR games.
Damian McKenzie is still too green for playing at FB and his defense and aerial game are IMO a big handicap for his debut.

so I would expose these youngs the less possible. Many are suggeting to play Sopoaga as 12 and this is an option that would give just one bench spot to the inexperienced youngs. This option would permit to Feikitoa to play in his preferred and best spot, the outside center but seems also a little bit risky to play Sopoaga in a position where he has never played, at least at SR level. Only the coaching staff can know about Sopoaga's ability to play at 12 and this optoion remains depending on it.

Looking from outside, other possible option would be to start B. Smith at 13 switching Feikitoa to the inside center. This would leave Smith's wing vacant. My option would be to play Ioane there, where he played this SR season and his defense could be less noticed.

9. A. Smith       10. B. Barret

12. M. Feikitoa   13. B. Smith

11. J. Savea     14. R. Ioane   15. I. Dagg

or a possible variation of this could be to play Cruden at 10 shifting Barret to FB and Dagg to the wing.

 I would go with
9. A Smith 10. B. Barrett 11. J Savea 12. M Fekitoa 13. Sami Tamivula 14. R Ioane 15. B Smith
Dagg of the bench. Tamivula already has had ab exp in the wales test series. So I think throw him in their. Barrett is now world class at ten, B Smith is a world lass fullback. SO I don't want to expereiment too much.

I would go with 9. A. Smith; 10 Barrett; 11. J Savea 12 Sopoga; 13. Fekitoa 14. B. Smith; 15 Dagg. Bench: McKenzie; Cruden
Alternatively: I would move B. Smith to 13, Fekitoa to 12; & McKenzie or Ioane to 14 ( I most likely would start Ioane at 14 as McKenzie offers more versatility off the bench. Cruden on bench.
