You all love the Bakkies physicality and Greyling elbows but to ruck a man on the head? Is this thuggery really a one way street?

One would argue that Thompson became "frustrated" at the Scot flanker lying over the ball that one time. Well boys, that was "Richie McCaw like" except he does it at 80% of the breakdowns he attends. Can you see how easy it is to become frustrated?? At least Greyling let the man face him. McCaw had the option to retaliate.

Seems NZL are edging SA in the "foul play" stakes. It all started back when you used a boxer in your front row, then Brad Thorn's lifting and dumping of John Smit and now this. How that Thorn incident did not warrant much harsher punishment is beyond me. Our guys give your guys little elbows and headbutt's..Who is really the dirty lot?

I mentioned this in another thread, but by Bakkies physicality you mean when he mounted Jimmy Cowan from behind and then head butted him...yeah that wasn't dirty. The bok fans really are becoming a bunch of softies, cherry picking AB incidents, but convenienty sugar coating Bok indescretions. Rugby is a physical, confrontational sport, incidents legal and illegal happen, the Bok pride themselves on their mythical physicality and their game is try to physically intimidate opposition teams (never works on AB's) yet the Bok posters are quick to have a cry about incidents involving their players. When did an AB sucker punch a player from behind (Andy Dalton) or bite an opponents ear(Sean Fitzpatrick), the media built these up but the involved assaulted players accepted it as a casuality of the game.  I don't condone Thompson's actions, in fact the dickhead should've been red carded, but indescretions happen with all teams.

Boklogic it was poor stuff once again from the kiwis. Of course we have through our illustrious history committed a couple of normally provoked indescretions but nothing remoteley on the scale of nz.

Bye the way Boklogic did you notice how the abs against the Scots used blockers in the backline to manufacture a try. Two forwards - was mccheat invoved - blocked the centers from tackling their opponents - the ball being passed behind these two blockers to players lined up behind the blocker -ous.

Man there has to be a genetic defect at work with the kwi bird brains - Bwahhahahahaahhahahaha they are bent!

Pretty silly act, he probably could've pushed his head down with his hand harder than he did with his foot but the IRB will take a hardline view of any foot contact with the head so he's likely to sit out the rest of the tour - couldn't really argue with that ruling to be fair..

pooo to be honest I dont think the incident that bad and perhaps I was a bit hash in my post above  -due no doubt to many years of devious ab play!

The scot was wearing a scrumcap also as I recall and scots are very thick headed so no damage done?

In the old days we had linesmen to assist the ref. Nowadays they are called assistant refs and their job is to inform the ref about any infringements or foul play, but also advise the ref as to whether a yellow card/red card/no card should be shown to the transgressor. As the assistant refs are not only assistant refs, but fully coached/trained refs, I fail to see why the assistant refs are so poor in their judgements and advice when they are assistants, but do take full responsibilty when being the ref of a match. Deliberate use of the rugby boots to inflict injury to another players head can ONLY be a RED card...end of story, be it an Irish, English, Aussie, South African or whatever rugby player in the world.

Yes we have seen this move a number of times and invariably leads to a ab try. Refs must start blowing the abs up for this and their traditioanl lying on the wrong side of the ruck etc. Ou mcaaaaw would not need a sabbatical he could just get yellows and sit on the bench all the macth long! Kockott was an outstanding player ruined by the Sharks. Wish he had come down to WP. He is of international class.

As for craig joubert he is a bulle ref deep in the nz pocket.  I recall how he robbed us of a Super 15 cup at loftus blowing our brilliant loose trio of Schalk, Louw and Vermuelen out of the game while, as Schalk said, coaching the bulle loosies who were taking a battering! Those guys who were given the boot here were way over the top. We have an excellent decent mod who has that gift called objectivity and is mature enough not to over react  - what a contrast!!
