Before we played France there was doom and gloom in the land....after the French series and the Lions semi the switch flipped. I see it's now guaranteed we will be second in the RC, and who knows maybe challenge the ABs at home. That's a lot of belief for a side that was whitewashed on the YE tour....a lot of belief from a victory over a French team that probably couldn't beat the Sharks. ... So here are some things 'decided' by the Frog flagellation: .. 1 Coetzee, Rhule and Skosan are an adequate back three. . 2 Stepfontein has finally come into his own . 3 Kriel has overcome his defensive issues . 4 Coenie can scrum . 5 Mostert can function as he does with the Lions....at international level. . 6 Kolisi is an answer to our fetching needs . I haven't included Jantjies because nobody feels confident he has really put the questions behind him. But what of those other conclusions. I am inclined to buy Mostert but most of the others run in the face of years of experience to the contrary. Are they right, or were the French just very bad and totally without fighting spirit?

The Allblacks will still slaughter us, but we might beat Aus and Argue at home and there is a slight chance of away wins against them too....not that we are better, they are poor too.

The Boks fixtures are tough, three away games in a row, last one against the Kiwis
Kiwis have the easiest itenary ,they start off with an away game and their fixtures  include three home games in a row.Suppose they really need it.

Nothing builds a team like a tough tour...it might work in our favor.

We are still being destroyed by quotas - players and coach. Nothing therefore has changed since the French series. Merit selected squad with top flight coaching team that was kept together for awhile would allow up to challenge for number 1
