What happened to the 150kph club

Watching the Sri Lanka match I was struck by the fact that only Rabada, rarely, got into the 140s. The rest were mid 130s or slower. Not that pace was needed that much with the amount of swing and pitch movement available. Still with only Starc regularly above 140 ks in the current tests one wonders what has happened. Is this a measurement change, or are bowlers giving up on outright pace? Where is the new Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson or Shoaib Akhtar

 Moz, it's PE. Slow pitch. Next up will be Newlands, slow too....and then we'll be treated at the Bull Ring with a bit of pace. ...The lads did OK Regardless though!

 Rabada looked a bit lazy to me. He started off very slow and barely made 140 km. We need a fit Dale Steyn back and of course AB.

Mitch is a monster. It's still a total mystery to me how he clicked. After working with so many coaches and having played cricket most of his life, he suddenly figures out what his ideal length is and starts ripping through teams. I'd really like to know what happened there. Indeed Moz. Even Pakistan aren't delivering true pace anymore. Pity at the Windies are now more interested in Basketball, NFL and other more lucrative sports.

 Watched Proteas opening spell against the Lankans second innings before lunch . Philander bowling at 124 km and Abbot at a lighting 133 km. Pathetic. 

Yeah, i was watching some of it too Beeno. Sri Lanka are awful at the moment. Had high hopes for Marchant De Lange but it looks like he's off the radar for the moment. Excuse the pun. Radaba will get quicker, Abbot and Morkel still have a few years left in them too. Hopefully at some point we'll have those three plus De Lange. Leaves us with a bit if a long tail though. Steyn is finished I think. Sad to say it cos damn he was a true champ for us. Honestly I'm more concerned with our batting. Amla, De Villiers, Faf, Duminy and Elgar are all going to retire within a few years of each other. That's our top five less Quinton. What ever high we are currently on is going to come crashing down terribly in a few years unless there is some good planning that gets done. I must hand it to CSA though because in terms if selections they have always been solid and have in recent times been taking chances on younger players too. Radaba being a great example. In a few years he'll still be in his early twenties yet an experienced hand at international level. The same chance that AB, Smith and a few others got and it paid off for us. Regardless of the politics involved I'm glad that Bavuma and Radaba are in the squad early.
