Our "beloved" Minister of Sport and Recreation Fikile Mbalula (one of the crooks whose wife stole millions  of Government Housing Funds) has been moved to be Minister of Police.  Very appropriate since the investigation on the housing loot can be stopped.  He has been replaced by Mr Thembellani Nxezi.
Both the Minister of Finance and his deputy has been sacked and replaced by two other crooks loyal to Zuma.   However, Zuma could not convince the ANC to appoint Molefe of Saxonwood  Shebeen fame as a Minister or Deputy Minister.
The Rand is already going down and the sh!it will hit the fan tomorrow.

Large sums of money have probably been spent on purchasing US Dollars. To ensure their investments bring back positive dividents the Rand needs to be put under pressure.

The weaker the Rand ... the better for those who've invested in this foreign currency.

It's never about the country but rather about self enrichment.

You've got to give it to Zuma. He knows how to manipulate the system and walk away with coffers of cash.

Very simple to get away with. When the people that are investigating the matter are also involved in the theft, they make sure nothing ever comes of the investigation. The state of affairs in South Africa at the moment.

The tale excellent men put out.

SA could be exempted of corruption (no place is), the rand would be declining.

The rand was a resource backed currency and with depletion of resources, it is bound to lose value.

People might take advantage of this trend to make business but thinking they are engineering it tells it all.

You're glad that this incompetent buffoon has left a relatively harmless post like Minister of S port and is now the Minister of Police?

Are you based overseas Draad?

Well that's a laugh....Tokkie writing about government corruption, when he took gifts from companies while in public service. Sure the scale is different but the principle is the same.

There is normally a cutoff of say $50.00 for gifts anything below that you can accept them (although it's a good idea do declare it) and anything equal to or above that you have to refuse it or give it to the organisation & tell the person giving the gift  that you have done so. Those are the rules I worked with.
So, CleverMike might be ok i f he stuck to the rules of his particular organisation.

Anyone who would like to send me a gift is more than welcome. Please include the receipt in the box since i've been known for exchanging unwanted and poorly selected gifts for some a tad more me.

"So does the minister of sport deliberately screw over the cricket team as well ? Is that soccer garbage flavour of the month is it ? And how the fark do they get away with this outrageous stuff you mention Mikey ?"

WD they get away with it because whenever the public points a finger at them they simply point the finger back at apartheid and at whites.

Yes we have plundered millions and failed the public...but remember we had apartheid, so don't waste your time arresting us when there are still all these whites living in South Africa.

We are headed for a civil war in SA. Luckily the gas in the Karoo is not quite as valuable as oil or else we'd have been manipulated into conflict by now.

Mike, there is absolutely no future in Africa...maybe Morocco...you foreign and ex patriots (not so stupid Mozart, Saffex, Denny, Cera ,AB and a few others)...the fools left are the compatriats and poor idiots like myself, Rooiaas, Draad, Biltonbek, Shark and Blue Bok and others and  guys please don't patrionise us...for those who ignore history, objectivity and believe in La  La land and believe in Madiba and his illusions of rainbows it will be the biggest deception of all...even 1995 was fixed...honest people know this...don't even talk about rugby...eventually there will nothing left...for those fools who cannot see the funds going abragadabra your insight is zero...Mike at least you have the sense of going somewhere that's relatively non threatening but you are getting on...when you are old and love this country it's hard to change but these parasites will suck you dry and it will eventually be another Zim.

The sad thing was as an individual Madiba, was sincere, loved his country was an exceptional person per se but not definetely a messiah which the SA make him out to be...Ironically I heard that Nelson was converted  in prison in Paarl by being exposed to the gospel by reading a Methodist's month ly...Faith For Daily Living...I only hope that genuine because I loved the man as a person and not a public figure...he was a strong good man but knew this is good but does not tick boxes to heaven, only Christ does

The rand goes down for the cause already mentioned.

Anyone can take advantage of it. The alleged deals that follow are not the cause of the  rand going down.

Maybe SA government officials take advantage of the situation by striking relevant deals (as anyone can) The deals do not provoke the situation.

The rand losing value is a simple case of dilution of money. Actually, it would be interesting to read how people think they can avoid it. Because the government (and they are not alone) have no idea about that.

SA looks like witch hunts in the past, when people killed cats, thinking it would stop plague.

.when you are old and love this country it's hard to change but these parasites will suck you dry and it will eventually be another Zim.

Actually, the parasites are those who caused the depletion of resources in SA.
Ascribing it to the indigenous does not stand. If left to their own devices, the place would not have changed much and most of the SA environment would still be there.

Now in the case of people who led to that depletion of resources, it is way better not to have them as neighbours: they are unable of acknowledging their own nature, picturing others as parasites when they are the parasites.
They are not the type of people you want as neighbours. Now you might want them as neighbours of others: ultimately, they will end doing the same they did in SA, shipping away their local environment to increase their welfare. So it means more of the resources of others shipped to you.

The ANC are rotten to the core.
They are stealing the country dry and no one is in a position to hold them to account.
Sad but true.
But the Nationalist Party did have the same game plan from 1948 - 1992(?) only they did not have the international contacts as the ANC have to cover their tracks.
The old saying I believe is:
EVERY MAN HAS HIS PRICE.
I feel for all the folks scratching to provide for their loved ones.
The Old Man must be turning in his grave when he observes just what the ANC have become.

The level of corruption is totally different and spreads down to low level types like Tokkie who had the cunning to join the ANC at the right time. If he had free access to corporate boxes at the Sharks for years, it's fair to ask what other gifts came his way. Having him preaching about corruption is a classic kettle black scenario.

Hmmmm?

This site sure can bring out the ugly side of it's members.

Seems it's capable of provoking emotional outbursts without much effort ... people that are not usually prone to profanity are letting rip these days.

Perhaps the fascade of being prim and proper is merely that ... a fascade.

Every now and then it slips ... and out pops the true self ... the darker side ... lurking in the shadows.

Look at how Pucker Up's language deteriorates when his blood pressure rises. One can barely understand him at the best of times (due to being schooled under a tree somewhere I suppose) ... but when he loses grip and becomes all tearful then the likes of menstrual cycles becomes the subject of discussion. A real potty mouth.

Hahahahaaa!! Poor dear!!

I suppose he is a special case. Having dipped his wick in lamb for many years ... perhaps he's picked something up from them.

Mike did join the ANC ... he did turn his back on his people ... for self preservation as cowards usually do ... and for whatever perks came with the traitorous act.

There are certain lines one never crosses.

Pretending innocence now is a little too late.

My comments on your lunacy is clear and to call me corrupt is a crime - if you were in  SA I would have laid a charge of crimen injuria against you.  Even on a board like this it is fine to criticize a person of all kinds of things - but libel remains libel and you have gone too far.   In the meantime you are a real BSter and a liar as well - but that you will alw ays be low life.

Mike you betrayed your people when you embraced the ANC.

You never hesitated ... not for a moment. They came into power and you joined right up ... and with it ... the perks of being a "card carrying" member.

Of course you made the most of it. That was the point wasn't it?

I am sorry but there is a long history attached to the story and I admit I joined the ANC - but only after the demise of the opposition party in 2000.   I was at that stage involved with welfare work in the poor communities in the area - ie Groutville, Nkobongo, Etete and Shakashead and realized the plight of the people there.   I was at that stage also a Trustee of the Albert Luthuli Trust and close friends of the Luthuli family.  It was then that they convinced me to join the ANC.
I dropped out of membership with the election of Zuma as leader and becoming President and has been a sharp critic of the crooks who took over the ANC.  Was not really a very active member and never attended any meeting of the ANC.
However, that does not mean I was corrupt as well and never once took a bribe from an ybody.

"The rand goes down for the cause already mentioned."

Haha. Nah I think I there is another common denominator. Let's see, what's we could it be? Zim, Angola, Nigeria, DRC, Ethiopia, Somalia...And on and on.
All countries with such strong economies...That never had apartheid. Who still have abundance atop abundance of resources and yet somehow manage to live off of aid packages from the evil west.
Mmm, now what is the one things SA has that those countries don't. Resources...Or sometbing else? And it could it just be that this "something else" is the reason why all the people from those countries flock to SA in droves...Just like they flock to Europe, the US and every other place that also has that "something else", hoping never to return to their native country.
Closer yet to finding the common denominator Traditionalist?
Denial is such a torrid little state.

If that was the case, then the pratical, pragmatic, simple solution of terminating rugby would be favoured.

The termination of SA rugby is a straightforward, direct and unambiguous solution . It is known who  supports that project and who oppose it.

People, simple clots, who oppose it are the obtuse ones, being able to phrase one reason to keep the SA rugby mess going.

Ironically the new government individuals feather their OWN nests with purchases of foreign currency...and flee to those who will accomodate them..

There is no irony in it, except maybe that the people who feather their own nests right now are not the expected ones. Which might anger others indeed who would prefer to be the ones.

Just like in rugby when people fight for a priviledge to lose.

Other than that, SA was set on the path to be turned into a Kolmanskop. When you ship away that massively, at such a rate, your immediate environment, it tells you do not plan to stay longer than it takes to deplete the area.

Just like locusts.
