Hard question to generalize, in fact impossible in this context because in individual players this definitely varies.
Indeed we see lapses of passion in over paid and unfit players who have their motives wrong or should I say their priorities in a knot.
Must say I cannot blame any player that looks after the money side because your career is short lived and the risks are enormous but there are those that passion rules and know that if passion and pride rules that money automatically looks after itself.
I think that is partly the reason, not the entire one for AB's consistency and strength because they play the balanced game with the right mindset.
There is more passion in WC rugby than anywhere else and although world cups are sudden death they make true victors as money is not the main motivator.
This we can see in soccer...I have no doubt this is why teams perform in their own backyard because of support and pride and am quite convinced that the WC soccer prize will go to a south american team if not Brazil.
