Erasmus was appointed by SARU as  DIRECTOR OF RUGBY on a six year contract.   So what does the job in fact entails?

In normal circumstances it does not entail the coaching of teams.   Fact is the Director of Rugby's only is that the Head Coach fails organizationally under him an he can provide guidance when the coach falls flat.   This was emphasized again as a world wide practice, in the case of Cheika - where he  was retained as coach  - but the power in fact rests ti a c\very large extent rests with the newly appointed Director of rugby,

Th main and only function is in fact the development of rugby as a game at all levels.   He should in practice liaise with coaches on all levels  but preferably only in actual cases where  for instance the coaches failed badly.

So lets get back to the Erasmus situation.   He never was appointed as Head Coach of the Springboks - but the problem was that the latter position was that the position of Head Coach of th Springboks were NEVER filled and the position was vacant from the day Coetzee was fired.   It is impossible for anybody to fill both positions - unless  ther are peculiar circumstances  of a shorter term nature such as the case is at present,

So fact is the position of Head Coach has  been vacant from the date Coetzee was sent packing and will only for logical reasons be filled after the WC next year.

So who should be the candidates for appointment:-

1   Ackerman

2   White  *

3   Eddie  Jones

4   A New Zealand coach - eg Plumtree

5   Stick or another quota coach

*    White will come with a lot of baggage - especially if his 2014 stint with the Sharks is borne in mind.   He is likely being  too disruptive insofar as his relations with his superiors in SARU is concerned,   He will have to work under Erasmus and will that ever work out?

Who should in reality be appointed as Head Coach?

F#ckwit

What is in his contract with SARU?   There is not a word saying he is on a six year contract as  Head Coach of the Springboks,   What is in the contract is that he is appointed on a six year contrct as Director of Rugby.

That is a fact,

So why dimness was the Director of Rugby job vacant?   It was vacant because Erasmus  resigned from the job  in early 2016 and went to Munster as DIRECTOR OF RUGBY.   In his contract with Munster there was no reference to him being coach - but the Munster coach died suddenly and  for a while Erasmus handled both positions of  Director of  Rugby and Chief Coach at Munster.

In South Africa the situation was that Meyer - who was allowed unlimited idiocy in handling the coaching job self-destructed and his contract was not renewed.   Coetzee was  appointed and he was even worse - while at that stage Erasmus moved to Munster.  Fortunately there was a condition in his contract that if he is needed by SARU as a Director of Rugby - the equivalent post he held at Munster - he would be released from his contract,

That being the case - SARU enticed Erasmus to come back as DIRECTOR OF RUGBY,  He accepted the post before Coetzee was fired,   Be it as it may the two incidents happened more or less simultaneously and  it is not surprising that the newspapers coupled the two jibs together claiming that Erasmus was Head Coach and  not Director of rugby.   As per normal the Village Idiot did not know the difference either and now grabbed onto some newspaper articles to come up with the story that Erasmus was on contract as Head Coach.   Stupidity unlimited as per normal.

So when Erasmus assumed duty he found that Coetee was fired and the Head Coach post became vacant.  After working as SARU Director for 6 years SARU knew the capabilities of rugby.   There was not enough time to advertise and appoint a new coach and SARU may end up with another two idiot coaches like Meyer and Coetzee with less than 10  tests matches left by the time of assuming of duty of the new Head Coach,

It was then agreed  that while him being Director of Rugby - Erasmus would also temporarily act as Head Coach till after the World Cup because it would not wise to get in another coach so shortly before the WC,   Australia was in the same position with Cheika - who like  Meyer and Coetzee failed as coaches - Meyer in the lead-up to the 2015 WC and Coetzee totally - so they ha d to limit the damage.   Australian Rugby did not remove Cheika as Head Coach - the merely appointed their own Director of Rugby and reduced Cheika's functions - giving more powers than usual to the newly appointed Director of Rugby..

But what happened on site.   The three most rugby-ignorant BSters on site went ballistic in their hatred of ERAMUS - which has been ongoing for years.

This thread was written to enlighten all the members as to the real situation and  never intended to open another flood of BS about the legal position as to contacting.   Because as per normal one cannot expect from the recognized Village Idiots to make a constructive contribution on the issue - it was meant to deal with whom thinking members should be appointed as Head Coach of the Springboks after the WC..

A hell of a shitstorm to try and debunk my numerous pieces of evidence that SARU have appointed Erasmus as the Bok head coach IN CONJUNCTION with his responsibilities as Director of Rugby and that is NOT an OPINION it is in fact A FACT which means this entire thread is a bunch of meaningless shyte. This entire thread is nothing but the normal conjecture. You are trying to prove that Erasmus is not the national coach despite SARU’s announcement that he has been appointed as the head coach BY THEM. Are you a member of the Flat Earth Society as well?

Press evidence used as a real example is totally unacceptable as evidence in court cases otr on any legal basis  and what youw rote is exactly that - total BS as per normal..

Fact is Erasmus is not appointed as head coach - his CONTRACT provided for being appointed as Director of Rugby.   The fact that he was asked to handle the coaching role temporarily basis till the WC has nothing to do with his contract of employment at all - it is a variation agreed on as a temporary measure,

It is conjecture on your part and as expected from a total idiot like you it is totally misconstrued.  In the latest press interview it was clearly clarified by Erasmus and the idiots like Mozart and his fellow Village Idiots started another of their regular lies about Erasmus.

So the idiots claim Erasmus and SARU were lying about his contract and you and co - proven BSters - knows exactly what happened.  What a joke LMAO

And you and Mozart do not even know that the Director of Rugby is a job senior to that of Head Coach in the hierarchy of  all rugby institutions.   The Head coach organizationally falls UNDER the Director of Rugby and is accountable to him.    So in this case according to our Village Idiots he signed a six year contact as Chief Coach and will also be the Director f Rugby on a part-time basis.    No knowledgeable person would ever sign such a contract.    .

So the idiots claim Erasmus and SARU were lying about his contract and you and co - proven BSters - knows exactly what happened.  What a joke LMAO

Fcuk me. Looks like even SARU were thick enough to announce THEIR DECISSION to appoint Rassie as Bok coach without consulting with ou Troffelkop Mike first.

Rassie Erasmus confirmed as new Springbok coach

March 01, 2018

"Rassie Erasmus will spearhead a streamlined but experienced Springbok management team until the end of the 2023 Rugby World Cup, SA Rugby confirmed on Wednesday, as the former Springbok captain will combine his Springbok coaching duties with his current role as Director of Rugby at SA Rugby.

The 45-year-old Erasmus takes over the national coaching duties from Allister Coetzee, who was in charge of the Boks during the past two years. His three assistant coaches will be Jacques Nienaber, Pieter de Villiers and Mzwandile Stick, while Aled Walters will join the management team as Head of Athletic Performance".

You can do yourself the favour to write to SARU and asked them whether Erasmus contract relates to him being the Director of Rugby or not.   You can also ask in what capacity Erasmus is serving at present.

I know what the answer is going to be.   The matter was clarified by Erasmus in a TV interview during which the issue of his present contract was discussed extensively and during which -

*    he stated that his c ontract of six years with SARU is in respect of his appointment as Director of  Rugby;

*     he mentioned that  after he actually signed the contract he heard about the confirmation re termination of Coetzee's contract by SARU;

*     he indicated that after the departure of Coetzee there were extensive discussions as to filling of the Head Coach  vacancy.

Insofar as the latter was concerned the fact was that at the time there were only 18 tests left before the start of the WC and SARU felt it would not help to advertise and fill the vacancy since it would be unfair to both the new coach and potentially also to the team,   SARU then decided that it would be best to ask Erasmus  to serve as stand-in head coach until the WC after which a new head coach would be appointed.

I think Erasmus will be in serious trouble if anything of the above is not 100% correct and I am afraid I do not think that Erasmus would lie about the issue at all - he has nothing to gain from lying,    So you are welcome  to claim that Erasmus is a liar,

I checked and found the answer on the official SARU website. 2. I know the answer. I’m clear on what the situation is. You are the one who is as mixed up as vomit in a tumble dryer.

So Erasmus lied on the air about the issue and you are the one who claimed he did.  Wonderful.  I am  amazed that you are so knowledgeable about organizational structures in rugby and a real found of wisdom about the roles of the Director of Rugby and how he is below in ranking of the Chief Coach.

Also  how the system works and how Erasmus will be demoted  to the position of Director of Rugby after the WC in terms of the contract he signed with SARU - amazing how stupid Erasmus is to sign such a contract demoting himself to a lower level and that on a six year contract.

What a terrible fiasco - we have a public liar as a coach!!!!!!!!   .

Mozart

Erasmus was asked by SARU to help out as Head Coach until the WC - after which a new Head Coach will be appointed and Erasmus will be used full time as Director of Rugby,   As such he would be the superior of the Head Coach in the hierarchy.

That is why I think their is scope for a person to be appointed  as Head Coach to replace Coetzee in a permanent capacity and asked for opinions as to who it should be. .   .

It sounds to me like he was brought back as Director of Rugby, because that was the only way he could break his Munster contract. And because that allowed SARU time to devise a politically acceptable exit for Coetzee. But he was really brought back as Head Coach, while the all but meaningless role of Director of Rugby remained vacant....and when he goes after the WCQF, another coach will be appointed. But no coach worth the job will agree to report to a failed boss....so that will be eliminated and the Director's job will become even more meaningless. Next both Rassie and SARU will try to find ways to advantageously break the contract.

Are you always prepared to make unsubstantiated statements and then say what you think in your negative mindset concocted as fact.    Why cannot you and the most stupid ever on site - the incredible Ceradunce - accept that Erasmus signed a contract with a higher remuneration package of Director of Rugby and that the intention was to fill the Chief Coach post properly after the World Cup.

His Munster contract did not specify under that he could only be released he was to be released.   However, the Head Coach of Munster died suddenly in Paris in  October 2016  and from that date Erasmus took over the coaching of Munster until Van Graan was appointed as Head Coach in November 2017.   So why should Munster have insisted that  they would only release Erasmus  if he was to be appointed as Director of Rugby when for most of his period at Munster he was occupying both jobs?

So the two of you claimed that Erasmus LIED about the real situation and that would be incredibly stupid on your part since you have nothing  to support your stupidity bar some media reports.   But then nothing else can be expected from the two of you.

You totally missed part 2.....how could he be hired as Bok Head coach. When there was an existing Bok head coach with his own contract? The only practical option was to hire Erasmus as the Director of Rugby, with the full intent of making him Bok Head Coach as soon as Coetzee was disposed of.......or do you think we could have had rotating head coaches? Perhaps have one on the bench ready to come in if the game was going south? Is this plank getting even stoopider?

No Mozart

I am learning to distrust whatever you write  on site.   So answer some straight questions:-

*     Did Erasmus knew when he signed the contract to be Director of Rugby that Coetzee would be fired and if he did was the firing finalized before his contract was signed?

*     Did the situation arises that the firing of Coetzee would  lead automatically to Erasmus not becoming the Director of Rugby at all, but only assuming the position of Head Coach and not being the Director of Rugby as his primary job/ in terms of his legal contract?

*     Did SARU ask Erasmus to take on the functions performed by Coetzee or did Erasmus suggested or had a role in getting SARU to make use of him as Head Coach until the world cup?

*     Was there any suggestion by Erasmus that he would stay on in both capacities after the WC?

No Mozart - whether you like it or not - Erasmus is the DIRECTOR OF RUGBY of SARU and that will be his only job over the next six months - while keeping track of the player performances so as to ease his selections when the tests series start in July next year - the exception being that Erasmus will no doubt  arrange for some training camps starting in May/June 2019.    For the rest he will work full time as DIRECTOR OF RUGBY,

Go back Ceradunce and see what you wrote after I gave a real indication of what Erasmus situation was.   What came out was that you wrote the opposite to what Erasmus said on TV and could only be construed as Erasmus being a liar.

However, your comments on site is so symptomatic as coming from a real moron  that it is clear you do not understand what you wrote yourself.
