What sets Pollard apart from the pretenders

It was refreshing to see Pollard stand up to some gritty defence and actually make head-way. My chief criticism of all the other much-lauded pretenders is a lack of physicality and attitude. Pollard has that Butch James level calm and authority and I have no doubt he will establish himself in time as the next Bok pivot. He needs to polish up that kicking game, but I'm sure that will come along. At long last someone gets the Sun-Tzu stamp of approval, and he arrives on scene at about the right time in view of the World Cup. Looks like my prediction regarding Goosen and Lambie is on schedule.

 The sooner Pollard replaces the Stade Francais reject - the better it will be for all of us.    

 Maybe, maybe not. But his kicking will have to improve. Throwing him in the deep end and having a kicking misfire could set back his development and confidence. It's too early to let him start throughout the RC! Besides, Morné is playing exceptional rugby and one of the senior figures who adds stability and calm.

A sensible coach would have a more experienced player start & have the younger player develop confidence from the bench. 
Throwing a 20 year old into the RC in the 10 jersey smacks of a desperation move, there is no reason to be desperate is there?
