That's 20 in your walk-on side Tuggernut........even then you'd probably lose to the ABs!!

Ummm .. Brussow is an openside specialist ... apart from not having the necessary blindside skills he's just not big enough.
I like Hollenbach but he breaks down every second match so not an option.
Esterhuisen is better suited at 12 with Sadie going to 13. I in any case prefer Jordaan to Sadie.
I would rather have Bakkies shot at dawn. Will never make my squad. My locks would be Bekker at 5 with Etsebeth at 4 and PSDT on the bench.
If not them then the next best in my opinion would be Flippie at 5 with Willemse at 4.
Victor would join Bakkies on the dump behind the main office.
Potgieter?? I presume that's Jacques.
Definitely don't like Coenie at 3. Not a test tighthead. Would prefer Redelinhyse or Marcell at 3.

Rugga
Funny enough I agree with a lot of your selections, but would rather have Serfontein at 12 and Jordaan at 13. The latter is the best defender in Super 15 and speedier than any of our present centers. Problem is that he played outside of Fransie in Super 15 and barely ever saw a ball passed to him.
I would rather have De Jager at lock instead of Bakkies - Bakkies last 15 minutes in any game - De Jager is good for the 80 minutes.
I would switch Louw and Brussow around - Louw at 7 and Brussow at 6.
Unfortunately Boshoff has an injury problem.
I think that Meyer should have gone completely a different route last week and tried the players you mentioned in the main. The older players was the problem - especially in the scrum and in the backline. The latter really came alive only when Goosen came on at flyhalf.

This weekend we're up against a team that has something to gain. They will play with a different attitude and unlike the World XV they'll keep going till the final whistle.
I will also not accept any excuses from our fool coach. I can see him blaming the loss on injuries.

Mike ... Goosen is faaaaaaaar more fragile than Boshoff will ever be so I'm not sure what your on about there.

Jacques Potgieter did very well for the Waratahs at lock - I think that is what Rugga is on about here. The other Jacques (Du Plessis) could also have been tried out here or even Lewies or Rh odes.

Potgieter is not a locks backside...............Lood, Willemse, Jacques du Plessis and Lewies are our options at lock with Etzebeth and PSDT out injured.

I would pick:
1. Oosthuizen 2. Bizzy 3. M. van der Merve
4. de Jager 5. Matfield (once Etzebeth fit, Victor to the bench)
6. Brussow 7. Coetzee 8. Vermeulen
9. Reinach 10. Goosen
12. Sadie 13. Jordaan (de Villiers and deAllende when fit)
11. Habana 14. JP Petersen 15. le Roux
16. Fourie (Strauss when cleared) 17. Mtwarira 18. Malherbe
19.v der Merve 20. Burger 21. de Klerk 22. Potgeiter (Lambie when fit)
23. JJ. Engelbrecht (he's a wing and covers centre)
Brussow is IMO the best openside flanker in SA and one of the few real openside (with Fourie when he plays in that position). Louw is a good player but he's blindside.
The issue with Meyer's selection is that is very far from the best possible in SA. Jannie and Steenkamp as starting props? really? almost any combination btwin the props that usually start for their franchises in Super Rugby would be better.
Botha-Matfield? I really doubt that they reach the WC as the lock pair and there are some very promising youngs to test.
du Preez-M. Steyn in the halves? the same said for the props can be said here
Louw and JP Petersen are out of position. There are many blindside flankers to choose before Alberts: Coetzee, Burger, du Plessis, Potgeiter,... and I doubt Hendriks is a test player

Thanks for the input.
Clean: I have no news on Bekker so don't know. PSDT and Eben are injured. I said available players.
Mike: My mistake and noted on Boschoff. Indeed Jacques Potgieter from the Waratahs.( His ball carries have been sublime this season and with Bakkies there could anchor the scrum. Quite handy in the lineout too)
Moz: Noted on Esterhuizen. We are just so thin on the ground at center and generally it is where our defensive weaknesses lie. JJ will never be in my consideration and Serfontein offers nothing in attack. JP playing out of position is not a Test option.
Basque: Agree on the flankers.
Saffex: Name a side instead of just bitching and calling people names or go for counselling (which should have happened long ago)
So on this note the team should look like this:
1. Beast2. Bizzy3. Coenie (i hear you but still think it is best)4. Bakkies5. Potgieter6. Brussouw7. Flo8. Duane9. Reinach10. Goosen11. Brian12. Sadie13. Hollenbach14. Willie15. Mvovo
This would mean that HM got 50% right, in my book, which is not good enough.

@saffex,
I included Matfield in the starting XV just because injuries. At this moment there are a bunch of youngs in SA rugby who I would put before him in my picking order: Etzebeth, de Jager, PSdT,... but I would keep Matfield as a kind of advisor given his experience and leadership capabilities. I think it would be positive for the team to keep him in the bench.
Sadie, as his team-mate le Roux, is one of the few current SA player that can create and distribute the game. As you said he possibly lacks a bit of X-factor (though he has some) but compensate it with the variety of his game. The rest of the centers are very foreseeable and with de Villiers injured there are no many options. He's been the most inform 12 this season and IMO he deserves a chance to see if he can be de Villiers back-up and later his successor.
Jordan is a real outside center (unlike JP Petersen), with a decent speed and a good defense. This saturday this last qality is gonna be needed against the welsh combo Jamie Roberts-Jonathan Davies. R emember last EOYT how Davies broke the defense before getting injured?

The best option at 13 remains De Allende - I think Pietersen was just about adequate at 13 - so we need to move on - play him on the wing where he belongs. Engelbrecht was poor in defense last year - improved on that - but he is also a recycled wing - harmless in attack at center. Fourie is way past it and way too slow for the modern game - adequate in defense and a zero in attack.
I would go for a center pairing of De Villiers and De Allende - with Serfontein as back up.
