Add this to the fact that JJ's defensive stats for a centre were in the top 5 of all the centres playing in the s15 this year.
You need a Bok 13 with the speed, strength and feet that JJ has.

There were 16 Super games this year....the vast majority with Steppie and JJ in tandem. The net result.... nothing. Why are they going to be better playing against International opposition?
JJ is going to be 26 before he plays serious rugby again and he is still learning.....this is getting pathetic. The man is not a competitor, he is a mouse......players like that don't succeed in tests.
Wrong CC, that beating of Savea and a good few of those other breaks involved some good skill. It had nothing to do with being put into space......I think the way forward for a good 13 is one with pace and good feet.......that is why I think Kobus v/Wyk of WP is one for the future. He played all his age group rugby as a centre and 13 is where he should be playing.
These guys bring speed and a good step to the 13 role........they are there to exploit the little space you get given in test rugby.
Sadly both JJ and Serfontein playing for the Bulls have been done no favours as they don't play attacking rugby, its all percentage stuff.
Serfontein is a great talent but he does not have the sheer pace required at 13......he is a creator not a finisher, whereas JJ is a finisher.
Serfontein has far more talent than Jean. He has more flair and a better attacking skill set. He is no slower than Jean or Frans and has more than enough pace for a 12.
His physical strength is a strength.
