Meyer implied as I understand it that every loss is regretted and he is clerly unhappy about it. However, he is positive in respect of one aspct and that is that the loss - which exposes deficiencies and shortcomings that could be corrected - is now and not during the WC.
The comments on the issue asindicated on this Board shows two angles. The vast majority of members believe that the following was shown up as deficient - with serious question marks about their continued presence in the Springbok team:-
Majority outlook

# What is interestibng here is that 6 of the 10 players mentioned have been part of the 2007 WC squad and 7 of those has been in the 2011 WC squad. In 2007 they were at their prime performance ages. By 2011 their performances became colourless and stultified and that was one of the reasons for early departure from the WC that year. Now 3 years later these players are all in the twilight of their rugby performancs and next year will only be worse. After all - they are all three years oler than they were in 2011 - when their performances was not top class already.
There are serious question marks with the performances of Hendricks, Hougaard and Mohoje. They really produced flawed performances yesterday (Hougaard) and an AWOL one (Hendricks)- hendricks defense was already exposed previously and that rmeains a serious problem. Mohoje was nondescript in all the tests he played in thus far.
Minority Viewpoint
Mozart is not in agreement wih anybody else. He hinted that he would like to see the return of Morne Steyn as flyhalf and blame the loss yesterday on the following players only: -
* Jan Serfontein
* Francois Hougaard
* Cobus Reinach
* Marce Coetzee
* Teboje Mohoje
There is definite meit in his voewpoint on Hougaard and Mohoje - which is shared by other members as well. However - he has fpr the past two years being constantly critical of Serfontein, Coetzee and Reinach - and since there is no real substance to support the negative comments on their performances yesterday - the issue relates to his prejudice against these three players more than anything rugby-related at all.
Conclusion
My vote goes with the majority opinion that the 10 players listed should be phased out asap and replaced by younger, stronger, faster and more ctive players. I would start off with phasing out Matfield, Botha, Hendricks, Du Plessis, Mohoje and Burger during this tour already. I would then see how the remainder goes in the Super 15 next year with special reference to Jean de Villiers and PPietersen - and that of Habana in the European Cup series. If they recove their 2013 form - there may be justification to review the situation.
How do you see the situation in respect of those ten players?
