Erasmus maym retain Kolisi as captain - but I do not t hink he is making needed performance at present, Polard ha not been up to stadard in t he matches h played for the Bulls and in tets this year thus far. If a third flyhalf is requied the only real candidate should be Jaqeen Ahmed,

It's time to draw a line under Du Toit and De Allende. Other selections require much closer examination as we approach the business end of this World Cup cycle.

Kolisi is a slightly different proposition. Whatever reservations one may have about his individual merits at this stage of his career, removing him now would probably be more disruptive than remedial. His position within the group, and the continuity he provides, have to be weighed against what might be gained by replacing him.

The task from here is not wholesale change for its own sake, but identifying which established players still contribute to taking this side forward — and which are now occupying places that could be better used developing their successors.
