When a ref is determined to give a team the game....
Agreed = there was a number of penalties second half aiming at stopping Sharks progress. In one such case the Hurricanes started a maul and the Sharks lock went straight through the maul and was then penalized for going off-side from the side of he maul - unbelievable. Then there was players from an off-side position going for the Sharks scrummie causing a turnover.
Wonder how incompetents like that gets to be refs?
@ Mike and Moz
...But don't you guys know?
It's all in our heads. We just imagine things and dream up excuses.

Don't spoil it - Mozart and I agreeing on something!!!!
They do say that nothing brings piece like a common enemy Mike
Home town reff like Peyper and many others. Not necessarily a cheat. Gets off on the cheering crowd, can't help himself. Poor sod.
Lol I would expect this. But I Could name the amount of times kiwi sides lost in SA. Due to home bias reffing. So don't give me poor Sharks nonsense. Lets b objective. Sharks were borderline offside the whole game. Sharks give away th most penalties in the whole comp. The last five they just were not disciplined enough. And they were giving away blatant penalties. Their was also a few big momennts in the Canes 22. Where they won a scrum. And Lousi of the Canes won a line out. Canes defended well. And were composed. Sharks deserved to win. But can you lot learn to be gracious in defeat? Or is that too much to ask? I know its a harsh reality. But face the fact Sharks lack of disciplin objctively cost them the match. Up 37-28. They should of closed out the game. Were the moments in the game Canes got away with infringements at the breakdown? Yes their was.
But it did not cost Sharks the game. Face the facts. Sharks give away the most penalties in the comp. And they were clearly blatantly doing so in the final five mins. I thought their were a few forward passes Sharks got away with. But thats Rugby. Rub of green an all. To suggest the Ref was determined to give the game to the Canes. Is a bit laughable. Looking at the Stats. The Sharks conceded 15 Penalties to the Canes 5. That says it all Disciplin lost them the game. Not the cheating ref . A piece on the game summed up the last five
"The Sharks were so desperate to hold onto victory that they conceded a number of penalties and a yellow card, in a frenatic four mins of extra time as the Hurricanes banged away on the Try Line".
Any reference to sheep is bound to distract Mozart so well done
Mozart, if I get the time I will watch the last 30 mins of the game again but watching it this morning I felt the Sharks were desperate on defense and lost their discipline. A lot of infringements in the red zone always risks a yellow. Maybe the ref got some calls wrong, I will see for myself.
So sad to see this kind of thing.
Undoubtedly the Kiwis will get away with it ... again.
Sickening.
Not so much that he pinged the Sharks for their errors and infringements, but rather that je missed those from the Canes.
For the record, I'm not saying he is a cheat or that the Sharks should have won. I'm saying the laws of rugby makes for grey areas that makes it difficult to reff without upsetting some fans...the forward pass law being a prime example
JW EQUALS -
Impressive linespeed = dict, euphemism for offside with impunity ,..
