Where now for Bismarck?

the expectations for Bismarck were massive. This was to finally be his year to shine after Smit's retirement from test rugby and move up North. Many have even felt a soft spot for him, as though he was hard done by in the shadow of Smit's presence. Fast-forward to today and I see nothing new. The same ill-disciplined, petulant and selfish player that made his poor debut for the Bok's with a yellow card. The same player who eye-gouged Thompson in 2008 amongst many, many instances of dirty play. His workrate has been shocking, his effectiveness all round has been very poor. Furthermore, this supposedly 'greatest hooker in the world' has been outplayed now in a total of four encounters against Chiliboy. Chiliboy's stunning performance last night further places Bismarck's place in doubt. What does he actually bring? His big burly carries have been driven back with alarming refularity, those big hits not happening and that presence at the breakdown nothing more than a sentimental myth. As a leadership figure at the Shark's it has to be the lowest point for the team, they have a leader who now heads the Super XV for penalties conceded and who ranks highly for erronous play. It's time to put this shameful excuse for a Bok to rest once and for all. It has continued far longer that it should have. If only Smit was still around, he would have a shadow to hide behind when the going gets tough.

 What you on about, he is week after week a massive player - by far the best hooker in the game. He completely outplayed the Aussie incumbent on Sat - no contest at all. 

He is probably the first name to go down on a Bok team sheet. Smit was great in his day but has been average for a good few seasons now. Hell he cant even make the Sarries starting line-up as they see far more worth in Brits and rightly so.

Do you honestly think Meyer will not select Bismark as his starting hooker? The only question is who should be his back-up - Chiliboy or Strauss - it has to be Chiliboy

Incorrect, on Saturday he was badly exposed on defence. One of his gaffs let the Brumbies back into the game with a crucial try. Moore was far more accurate and greater value. Bismarck's carries amount to very little, regularly being dumped, yes, literally dumped backwards. On the ground? Nothing of note here either. He is a very weak presence at the breakdown. I had a good laugh as the Reds, Bulls, Brumbies and Waratahs little push him aside at the breakdown. Several times being rolled over like a spare tyre.

As for Smit? No, he outplayed Bismarck last year. Furthermore, one of Smit's conditions at Saracens was that he took on a lesser role. He wants to play rugby a little longer, doing his bit, but he does not want anything serious. How did you like Bismarck's 4 missed tackles? LOL! Seeing as you are so sensitive I'll sweep that one under the carpet with all the other inconvenient facts against him.

 Card you must be the ONLY rugby supporter on this planet who does not rate Bismark - need I say anymore. I dont give a toss how many tackles he misses for we all know tackling is a strength of his, as is carrying the ball and making turnovers - so any crap you give us telling us he gets hit backwards or onto his arse we take with a large pinch of salt.

Really? My accuracy is beyond question, certanly my list of poor calls is easily less than 2% of your own. A lot of people are waking up to the Bismarck myth, it's only a matter of time before he is vanquished. As for Dave, well please consider how a 107 kg lighty who flopped as a backline player can be rated as a lock!!!!!!!!!!!
