Where To For Australia?

So, Australia are now at 3 wins in their past 13 tests. 10 in their past 27 and an overall win percentage of 48%. Despite the riches of attacking players, they are statistically the worst attacking Wallaby side in 40 years. Alarming given Cheika is an attacking guru. Thus, the team is clearly deteriorating. Surely this the time to pull the plug on Cheikaball. Could this mean return to test rugby for Jake White? In many ways, it makes sense for both parties. I'd certainly love to have the old Australia back. Since the departure of Deans, they've been in freefall. 

The two worst centers on display was beyond a doubt -

*    Beale - why he is playing heaven only knows; and

*    Mozart's hero Kerevi

Granted - Cheika is a useless coach - even Jake White would beat him by a short head in the Useless Stakes,   Cheika has Cheikaball - White has Jakeball,   Not much difference there.

I do not know why the hell Cheika made selections like Beale and Kerevi at center.  He also picked an idiot at no 8.

Be it as it may I do not think that even Australia will go for White at this stage - they are not going to change their coach this near to the World Cup,        

Mike, if you honestly believe Cheika and Jake have the same philosophy in playstyle, you've just embarrassed yourself. They could scarcely be more diametrically opposed.

Why wouldn't they consider a change? They fired Ewan a year out from the 2015 World Cup. They did the same thing in 2006 when electing John Connolly. At this stage, the Wallabies are so poor that they can't justify doing nothing. They have the legendary Larkham ad the backline coach, and still aren't functioning. Certainly puts those rumours of Larkham being the real Brumbie brain in the days of Jake to rest. 

Cheika is a very poor coach - there is not doubt about it.   However White has his own problems and that makes him equally problematic.

First of all he has breached an agreement with the Brumbies and it is publicly known the real reason - he wanted the Aussie coaching job and did not get it - so he left in a fit of rage.

Secondly there seems to be a problem with the teams he coached  - they reach a certain level in competitions and then bomb out badly.   It happened at the Brumbies, Sharks and Montpellier,  There were serious problems at the Sharks - where he  inherited a very strong team that was in the 2012 SR final - and did more damage to the team than he advanced them - even though he got them through to the SR  semi - where they lost by a wide margin.

The same happened at the Brumbies and Montpellier - reached the play-off stages in competitions and then bombed out.

There is a serious problem iro of coaching by White as well - I think he got stuck in the rugby played prior to 2008 and earlier.    In any event he was given an ultimatum by the Sharks -  either he resigned or he gets fired,   His contract at Montpellier was not extended too,     Why should that be if he is such a wonderful coach.   

Fact is that I believe the clueless Meyer has a better chance of getting the Aussie job than White has,       

Jake's Brumbies were runners up in his final season. They declined under Larkham. Not Jake's fault.

The Sharks reached their best level of performance since 2007 and bombed under Gold. I recall numerous fans so hateful of Jake that they branded a 6 game losing streak as the dawn of a golden age in Durban. Not Jake's fault they were poor before and after his arrival.

The Brumbies were very lucky in 2013 - they won the semi against the Bulls by the grace of Morne - who gave them a possession handover kick - leading to their winning try.

You keep stepping on your own toes Mike. The Sharks were hovering between 6th and 9th in 2012. They had to scrape 5th place on the last game of the season to sneak into the playoffs, and even then, they required several results to go in their favour or they'd be out. They faced the Stormers before the final. So had the luxury of staying in the Republic.

Jake's Sharks lead the log for most of the season whilst juggling multiple injuries. You cannot compare the two. Not only that, they beat 4 New Zealand sides, but lost the 5th to the Crusaders. His away record was better.

The bottle line: Jake leaves teams in a better state than when he began his work. He always does. He got more out of the Sharks than Plumtree, who squandered the golden era of Sharks rugby. 

Yet they were in the FINAL against the Chiefs.   And they did not stay in the Republic dimness,   They had to travel to Brisbane to play the Reds in the play-off - back to SA to face the Stormers the next week - and then off to Hamilton to play in the final.

So your statement is utter BS as per normal.  

They lost against the Highlanders in Durban in the group stages as well - so again  another piece of disinformation as well.   In that game Fat Fransie was a disaster.  I cannot remember - but the loss was by a very wide margin.

The Sharks had a massive injury problem in 2013 - not in 2014, 

My advice to you is to  study what actually happened and do not write the first thing that enters your mind - it normally  result in disinformation on your part.
