1. Hougaard's passing (he is poor when he the ball is sloppy in Northern hemishphere conditions with the slower ball from rucks. Reinach will bring better ball from the rucks, although some of his passes were average at best.

2. Mohoje . Does barely anything when on the field. Schalk Burger was better in general and also made an impact at the breakdown

The bok midfield is not looking great and needs to be changed. Too much of the best possesion was wasted in the mifield.

Neither are running supporting lines to who ever runs at inside centre.

I would bring in JP at outside centre who is more creative and better at offloading.

Jean would probably retain his spot at the captain but is not playing any better than Serfontein.

Serfontein is playing better the Jean. It's a Bismarck v Smit situation all over again.
Etzebeth should move to 5 and Bakkies to 4. Lood to bench.
Strauss and Bismarck swap.
Redlinghuys for Jannie.
De Allende for Jean and moved to 13.
Kriel for Oupa and Coetzee moved to 7.
I wouldn't make this many drastic changes against England but it's what should happen based on performances.

Jannie has to go.........Coenie should start with Redelinghuis on the bench.......Marcel v/d Merwe, Malherbe and Frik Kirsten are good young tightheads to also consider moving forward.
Matfield has to go more than anyone. Start Lood with Etzebeth. Willemse and PSDT are obvious options.
Oupa has to go......but there are no other real options on tour. Play Kriel at 6 and move Coetzee to 7. Jacques du Plessis, Elstadt, Rhodes, CJ Stander and v/d Walt are options.
Jean has to go.....move Serfontein to 12 and start de Allende at 13 and give him an extended run.
Play JP and Senatla instead of Habana and Hendricks.
Bakkies has to go but there are no other options on tour.
Replace Schalk with Whiteley on the bench.
Bismark had his worst test to date but we know his worth. He looks like a player knowing his place is under threat and as a result appears to be over eager in everything he does.

My starting team for next week would be
1. Beast2. A. Strauss3. Redilgiudenhuis4. Eztebeth5. Matfield6. Kriel (A specialist opensider is required, this is big step to see how effective he can be at the breakdown). 7. Strauss8.Vermuelen 9. Reinach10. Pollard12. Jean13. JP14. Habana15. Willie11. Hendriks

Looking at the performance stats of the players concerned - it is obvious that none othe geriatric showed much in perofrmance.   Ithink our center problem is that we have really two no 12's playing the same game - hence as was stated the ball gets wasted in midfield.
I would not have Bakkies anywhere near the team - he was bloody lazy and did squat in the 35 minutes he was on the field of play.  We are in trouble with having only Bakkies and Matifeld plus Etzebeth and De Jager in the squad and the presence of Matfield weakens our Tight 5 too much.
In essense I agree with your team - bar for the inclusion of Botha - I would rather see de Jager as the no 4 lock and move Etzebeth to 5.
I doubt it very much if Meyer would drop De Villiers - but I agree Serfontein was effectively better.

Serfontein wasn't the only one who couldn't break the Irish defence and running at the man was the only thing he could do. De Villiers the same but he was playing at 12 where he should have tried to creat an opportunity for Serfontein.
Bakkies offers some experience and he isn't as bad as Matfield, mainly I want Lood to be eased in this time. I'd start Lood against the Italians and Welsh.

Incidentally Pietersen should be put on the first flight back to Japan.

Dave, I would start with Strauss and Reinach for the following reason:
Houggie has not produced the class of the past and Bissy givers away to many points and a general one a game yellow card.
I would also make Strauss the captain and bring Bissy on around minute 60.
I would also ask the TV game camera crew to avoid showing us the hysterical/commedy show of you know who during transmissions.

Sad to say - but Hougaard was a major problem in the Springbok backline.
Hougaard0/002/62/41002033/00/010/0  He was poor bejhind mauls - lost possession 3 times and gave away a penalty. That is whyhe was subbed relatively early - had a bad day at the office.    But then he was playing behind a pack that in maul situations left him totally unprotected.

At the rate of oldies recalled by Meyer watch out he might even bring back Johan Classens to Captain the Boks.
