Looking at the game I have to say that the following players stood out and staked a serious claim for higher selection:-
Backs : Gelant, Kriel, Pollard, Papier
Forwards : De Jager
There has been a lot of answers as to the backline selections today - it is the best I have seen Pollard playing for years an d that little Papier was wonderful as scrummie. The latter is another player I said before the season started to be watched during the series, He is ten times the player Paige is.

De Jager has consistently been the best SA lock in Super Rugby this year,
...not so clevermike... Lood De Jager gave me 9.5 points on Superbru this week and Retallick gave me a massive 28.5 points ...not sure why i swapped De Jager in and Mostert out - that was really dumb of me given the Lions face the Sunwolves so i am kicking myself
...was good to see a SA team having a go and running the ball for a change though..
Trad is a nihilist at best and a pessimist at worst or perhaps the otherway round..he has no solution to rugby's problems, let alone human relation diversities,.pity him okies he is missing his holidays in Kolmanskop

Not really accurate. Papier has a better passing game than Faf and insofar as kicking is concerned none of our scrummies since the departure of Joost have had a reasonably accurate kicking game. As far as I am concerned the kicking game of scrummies must be limited to relieving kicks that find touch and accurate strategic kicks - rare in games as a variation - so not really a major evaluation norm for sccummies,
Papier made 7 tackles missing 2 - not bad at all.
The only problem I had with Pollard today was his tackling. Too many missed tackles - he will have to up the ante in that case.
