Can anybody tell me who the 25 boks are that stayed behind with the boks. I can't seem to find the list of remaining squad members. As far as I know is that all that Japanes players have left, and so has the French and UK based boks.

So who are still left to pick. I also see that Pollard has headed back home. So that only leaves us with Willemse and Sasha as flyhallf options.

Not sure who will play lock since we only have Eben and Nortje left?

Who will be our flankers? Kolisi, Van Staden, Ben Jason Dixon.

Grant Willams was released for the sharks so we only have Reinach and Van Der Berg.

Centres are Hooker, AE and Moodie.

Willemse and Arendse or is he injured make up the back 3.

I have absolutely no idea who Rassie will pick this weekend?

  1. Stenekamp / Muchunu?
  2. Grobbies / Bongi
  3. Louw / Porthen
  4. Etzebeth / ?
  5. Nortje / ?
  6. Kolisi
  7. BJD
  8. Van Staden
  9. Reinach / Van de berg
  10. Sasha
  11. Arendse
  12. AE
  13. Moodie
  14. Hooker
  15. Willmse

Who are the players still left in the team?

Kingcorn take a look at the video by Kiwi lads and guest discussing who could play for the Boks on Saturday.

Are a couple of uncertainties.

I think this would have been a good game for this 3 junior boks that joined the squad earlier in the year or at least bring in some lock cover like Van Heerden or Wiese from the bulls. They could have flown in Roos. We have no 8 either. Please don't tell me they are going to use Van Staaden and Kolisi as our 8 option.

I know Wales is weak but they are not that week.

Still think we have some decent URC players that can do the job.

Edwil might be back as well after birth of his child - not sure

I don’t think there are enough backs to cover the bench

Mpower

A good team - but a number of players you mentioned are not in the remaining Springbok squad when players departured from the Springbok players to join tieir clubs because the test falls outside of the Test window frame of World Rugby,

For instance Wliams have already been relasrd to play for eh S harks in their match against Connacht on Saturday

1.Mchunu 2. Grobbies 3. Porthen 4. Ruben V Heerden 5. Nortje 6. Kwagga 7. V Thsituka ( C) 8. Cobus Wiese 9. Morne‘ vd Berg 10. SFM 11. Edwill vd Merwe 12. AE 13. Hooker 14. Moodie 15. Damian Willemse

16.Steenekamp 17.Andre Hugo Venter 18.Wilco 19. Reinhardt Ludwig 20.Thsituka M 21. Pollard 22. Grant Williams 23. Faf de Klerk

I highlited the players who are not in the squad or has already left the squad,

Erasmus claimed he has 25 players left in the squad = but I know only of 23.

Oh ok…i have updated some of the players.

I am hoping that Erasmus will call up new players to join the Squad. That includes the Highlighted Players.

Will not do so - since the players from the Stormers and Sharks URC teams are either already in Ireland or in the case of the Bulls it would further damage the Bulls team who have to play the Lions on Sairday.

The Springboks will be without the services of Marx, Thomas du Toit, Boan Venter, Lood de Jager (who is still serving a suspension for a dangerous tackle), RG Snyman, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Grant Williams, Handre Pollard, Manie Libbok, Jesse Kriel, Cheslin Kolbe, and Edwill van der Merwe, who have all returned to their provincial unions and clubs.

Source: Rugby365.

Not all the Japanese based players have had to return apparently.

Hanazono Kintetsu Liners have requested that Manie joins them though. Not sure if Jean Kleyn has been granted permission from Munster to play. Daan Human says they still have 25 players in squad.

The Sharks will be without Springboks Eben Etzebeth, Siya Kolisi, Ox Nché, André Esterhuizen and Ethan Hooker, who are part of the squad playing against Wales this Saturday, though it appears Edwill van der Merwe and Grant Williams will be available.

This from The Citizen.

"Johan Grobbelaar could be given another start with Mbonambi as his back up.

Mchunu and Ntlabakanye could also be included, along with youngster Zachary Porthen, while Ben-Jason Dixon, who was subbed early against Italy due to Franco Mostert’s red card, should get another run.

Other players who will likely feature are Handre Pollard, Ethan Hooker, Morne van den Berg, Marco van Staden and Mostert, while it remains to be seen if Edwill van der Merwe will fly back out, after being allowed to return to SA for the birth of his first child."

Probably not since the Sharks play their first ECC match in Durban next week Saturday. The teams are already in the UK and Ireland, Die Springboks have more problems in the forwards than they have in the Backline where they had 3 scrummies and two flyhalfs - as well as one center and no full backs other than Willemse,

You probably refer to Jasper Wiese at 8, His younger brother Cobus play for the Bulls as a lock - but is not in the Springbok squad,

A mongst the forwards the team has only 2 locks and 2 loosies left. Not sure whether Kwagga will be with the permission of his Japan club will still be around,

It is an unholy mess and I am not sure about who will turn up to play in the match on Saurday, We wil have to wait till tomorrow to see who will play and who not and in what positions they will actually play.

Ja, this game is just one too many and it is right before critical European cup games. We seem to hit the dead of the season during the 6 nations and then it ramps up again, but it is not great for the SA URC teams that spend a lot of money on the top SA players to only have them for half the season.

I wil be quite supruse if D e A llende is srull around, I sa ab article that he wan to eurn to pla fo the Stormers and theyw ant toc ontract hin too, Bur I frankly thought it would be a fte completion of the present japanese tounnament in March/April 2026. The article was in Rugby 365 0 bit nothing was fnalized when the article was on that site,

However we will only know what is going on once the team has been announced by Erasmus,

Irrespective of who is a around, still a very powerful bok team. I do hope that it is not disjointed and that the boks just keep their heads and not play loose rugby. Thank God Manie is gone. Could be another successive start for Sasha. Hope he can find his feet now and settle down and learn how to temper that talent of his and use it when it counts and not always try to force it.
