It is necessary to look at -
*    actual remuneration per contract; and *    average number of minutes on the field of play
So lets look at Dan Carter with his Euro 1 000 000 salary.   Racing Metro plays in 26 matches this year in Top 14 and 3 matches in the Champions Cup.  Carter's average playing time is 70 minutes per game.  That represents 2030 minutes playing time per year ie Euro 492,61 per minute played.
Now lets look at Morne Steyn with his salary of Euro 450 000.   He plays in the same number of matches, but his playing time per matches equates to  478,5 minutes per year.  That equates to Euro 940,44 per minute played.
With the total number of minutes potentially played being  2320 Morne's average playing time is in fact 16,5 minutes per game played or just about 20,63 % of potential playing time.
The lucky guy gets paid a fortune for producing very little in return.   At that rate Morne should pray that his contract will remain intact - especially with the potential buying out of the club by investors after being on the verge of bankruptsy.

no wonder Morne's team is bankrupt
Sounds like the Liverpool football team. They sold a player for 3 million and bought him back for 10 million was he was past his best.

There are other SA players at Stade Francais as well.   Amongst others they have Bosman and Alberts on their books as well,   Both are also way over the hill and will have problems in finding places in other NH clubs with the exception of potential Japanese clubs where White is also heading to.
Fat Fransie and a few others will probably follow White to his new club in Japan - nobody else would want them.

There was no quality time at all in the case of Morne.   In the last four games his playing time was as follows:-
Game 1   -     6 minutesGame 2   -   10 minutesGame 3   -   20 minutesGame 4   -     0   (No game time)Game 5   -   60 minutes (started)Game 6   -     3 minutes
Total calculation  -  6 games 99 minutes played =  average 16,5 minutes played per game.   Based on the 6 games average of the last 6 games played - Morne would play 478,5 minutes in the whole tournament.   That equates to 20,63% of potential playing time.
He is being paid Euro 450 000 per annum - ie Euro 940,44 per minute played

We were told that Johan Goosen is back at Racing Metro and he has played exactly zero minutes this season......

You really are dim - the Goosen issue and that one of Morne are completely different and the reasons for not playing Morne and Goosen are consequently entirely different as well.
The reason for minimal play by Morne has all to do with his competence and performance deficiencies.   Goosen had a fall out with the Racing Metro management and even though he was the French player of the year last year in Top 14 and the European Champions Cup last  year - he has despite his return to Racing not been used by the Club.  That obviously is a punishment measure and his refusal to play out of position.    That will obviously not continue ad infinitum.

The question was: "Who is the highest paid Rugby player per minute played". Well Morne could fit the bill. I did not dispute that but there are many players who could fit in there but the only difference is that you do not have a lifelong campaign of hatred against any of the others. Come on, you are probably bored and was looking for an argument and then started this thread. Maybe it is a matter of pure jealousy. You are a poor pensioner (your own words) living in Riversdale and a farking p@epol like Morne Steyn is living a rich life in Paris and is, by all accounts, basically doing feck all while being paid handsomely for it.

I have no hatred of any player - I just do not accept under-performance and that was the situation for years by Morne in rugby and has no hesitation in exposing the under-performance and not trying to hide the situation.
As to my personal life - it has nothing to do with what is written on this site and your constant BS is certainly not what this site is about.
Now back to Morne - there were comments in another thread recently about his limited game time - it came to the fore again this weekend when Morne played for just three minutes in Stade Francais latest game and as a rugby topic I went through his latest six games and came to the conclusion that he is a very fortunate guy for being paid to perform very little in actual games played.
In your normal idiotic style you went off topic again and brought in something totally different showing your massive idiocy once again.  Live with it moron and if you want to improve go and consult a shrink - you are in desperate nee d of one.

You do not like underperforming players but there are thousands, yet you keep on your monotonous beating of the one single drum ad nauseam - Morne Steyn. Don't you ever get tired of that? As to your personal life...... you started it. Who starts the comments about Morne Steyn every time? It is you, p@epol. Like Jim Jordan said to Hillary Clinton: "It started with you, Madam Secretary, it started with you".

How many of the under-performance have been touted to play on international level or for that matter even playing on that level?
So go and sit in the corner dunce and stop preaching about what I may write or may not on this site dofdoos.
Just an aside - why do you never start a thread on this site and why do you always creep behind anything I write and come up with distortions so as to divert attention from topics under discussion?   Is that because as some on site say is that you lead by a long distance in the idiots race.
By the way do you really believe that top loose forwards are incapable of running in a 100 meter race amongst their peers as you came up with in a recent piece of idiocy on site?

Oh, and I start threads when I want to. Why didn't you address the 100m story on the particular thread and at the time? Was it because you know that you have, once again, made a doos of yourself? Find the thread and let's discuss it in context.

So you never want to start threads - since that is a fact as well.   The dofdoos is only you and I did not think discussion was even remotely necessary since idiocy calls for no response.   Your comments I regarded as a joke of total idiocy - but when you come up with further idiocy I could not help to remind you how really idiotic you constantly are.

Ignore my postings and I will ignore yours.  The other option is to clean up your act - but I suspect that will be beyond you.    You may have noticed that Mozart and I have resolved to tone down - but you must be more difficult to deal with since you do not stick to topics and your postings have very little bearing on the threads they are under.  They also have very little bearing on Rugby issues - but rather on personal ones.

Not joking - you are the one who constantly change discussion under topics and then try and belittle me and find fault with what I have written.   I do not like a person whose contributions have virtually no rugby value or even related to real rugby issues, but deals entirely what others have written.

Are you befuddled as per normal?   Easy target - what a joke by the real clown on site selecting a user name that can easily be changed to indicate a dunce.    But enough of this - no further retorts  to comments from the egg mountain

The fact that they are willing to pay it, shows how much he is worth.
