For me it's between Faf and PSDT...with Mostert in an automatic 3rd place.
My vote goes to PSDT.
He was a giant this year. He has set a wonderful standard. It's nice to know that we still have players with hearts in their chests and fire in their bellies.
All in all, outside of PSDT and Mostert, the other forwards, both tight and loose didn't come close their consistency, work rate or influence.
Snyman and the Dups bros should have gotten more chances.
Yup Plum it has to be Steph Du Toit. What a year for him! Faf was great and he and Willie made the backline function.
Marx was great but faded due to being overplayed. Etzebeth remains the worlds best lock even though his season was spoilt by injury.
A number of guys gained in experience and should be better players next year.
I agree with Pieter-Steph du Toit being the player of the year.
The other candidates have all had up and down performances with problems in some respects.
And Mozart wants him out of the Springbok starting team - so wait for his normal attack and tat of AO, Pakie and Ceradunce.

You are as predictable as the sun rising in the east and setting in the west, You claim you are right - but then you do not know rugby, When referring to the De Klerk there was one real problem identified - the number of penalties he gave away in the matches he played in - a total of 14 in 8 games. That remains a problem and you never even mentioned it, His passing game at times was a bit off - A very good player - but fall short of being player of the year.
Marx was rather off colour in most he played in and was very disappointing in his breakdown ball play in most games.
Willie played some very good games and some insignificant games as well.
Mostert was totally absent from Tight 5 play and his absence in setting up driving mauls were total, as well as any contri bution to defend against opposition mauls,.
When you start looking at games objectively you would stop making a total fool of yourself.

Faf was okish because he takes all too often too long to clear scrums, rucks and mauls. He is however the best scrummie in the country by a country mile.
The Boks could be a formidable unit if they had a true fetcher and some classy centres.
