I am very sporry to say that that player does not know anything about beig in any backline of any team.  Guess whom I am talking about?

Talking about Steph du Toit I presume?

Wrong - it was Francois Steyn in the Free State 22 - a certain try was a goner detroyed by him.  The commentator questioned that decision as well.

Nope Ooom Maaik I was just pulling your chain....Steph du Toit did exactly the same thing going left, as Fransie did going right. And the commentators mentioned that as well. I was just trying to see if you could be fair, and the answer is no....you fingered your whipping boy Fransie and gave your favourite Steph  a pass. Typical!

Sorry - I was referring to backline players -not forwards.  So I am not rxcusing forwards - they tend to do that type of thing anyway - but I fo not expect it from an expereienced center.  By the way Du Toit did not really distinguish himselef today - but at least he tried - I saw really nothing from the loosies and his lock partner.

I don't think Steph du Toit is as evolved as Etzebeth was at this time last season....and it took Etzebeth till the second half of the RC to really find his test feet. Steph may be an off the bench story for the Boks in 2013.

At least Frans beats players with that step, he makes a mockery of Bosman at 12.

That step cost the Sharks the best tryscoring opportunity they had in the game.  Stey does not read the game properly and killed backline moves that way.    Why is he nver invovled in any move that has good results in the end.

By the way whre was the other backline players to receive the ball after Jordaan's run at the end of the game.  Only reinach was there to receive the ball - he got it and found there were no players to pass to outside of him and had to try and mak a break himself leading to the Cheetahs keeping him off the ground.   You would have expected the other backline players - inlcusive of Steyn - to be there to receive the balls.

Unfortunately Styn made NO IMPRESSION when he came on - bar the negative referred to in this thread.

Ag Ou Mike you are speaking complete shit again. Steyn beat a few players with those steps, it was good to see. He was far better than useless Bosman. The sooner dumb Plum gets rid of Bosman and plays Frans at 12, the better the chances of them starting to win again

We have a lot of stats bandied about but I would love to see how Frans stacks up speed  wise, inluding excelaration with other centers and full backs. He looks a bit lumbering to me right now. Nothing like the youngster who burst onto the scene.

Keep whipping the donkey Plum. I would say what Frans needs is a bit of Mitchell coaching!!!!!

Where are the enormous touch finders and incredible place kicks from 70 meters. What is going on at the guppies tank? Injuries are one thing but this is another thing.

Something's going on in the Sharks camp. Plum needs to man the fuck up and take some responsibility, he keeps blaming the players (Fransie and Kankowski) when it's only 30% the fault of the players, the rest being his stupid gameplan that has bored me this season! Stop ruining Lambie by telling him to kick! Grow a pair and let the players have some freedom! That's why Steyn is in the firing line most probably, he doesn't stand by and follow the gameplan to the dot, wait for it, he plays with flair and strays from this hideous strategy!

Crap Beenkop, Frans showed in his start at 15 and when he came on, on Sat, that there is absolutely nothing wrong with his pace for a centre

And it cost the Sharks a virtual certain try.  It was bullshit on Steyn's part - he misread the situation totally.   Playing him at center is a dead loss.

Crap DomMike it was a good move, he beat a few defenders. Nothing would have come of the move had the ball gone wide.

The only dead loss at centre is the useless Bosman, but you are far too bloody stupid to comprehend that

Bullshit - there were 5 players with only three defenders - when he got it stupidly wrong.  Breaking inside and he was a sitting duck for Labuschagne in particular.   Hell - you want to see only what you wish to see.  The commentator also referred to the wron option by Steyn.    It really was a stupid move by him - and shows why he cannot play at center - cannot read situations properly.

Ag kak man, the touchline was the Cheetahs friend, there would never have been an overlap. If the Sharks had gone wide, the Cheetahs would have covered it with ease as they did all night.

That commentator was Stransky who is a useless commentator. The fool first said it was a good run by Frans then went on about options out wide.

But not as bad as his stupid comment about Arno Botha the week before, saying Arno did not start for the Bulls as he was leaving at the end of the season. Joel was so stupid he was confusing Botha with CJ Stander who had already left last season - talk about stupid. After that stupid comment the Bulls had to post a message on their site refuting the stupid comment made by Joel.

Frans was good when he came on, far, far better than useless Bosman who is an insult of a S15 player

Go and have a look again at that move.    There was no way that the Cheetahs could have forced the move over the sideline - the line was too far away for that - and there were only three defenders.

So stop talking kak about it - accept that Steyn made a stupid mistake.  He was tackled by the first opposing tackler and a rug formed - it took a while to get the ball back and by then he Cheetahs had fanned out and the attak nullified.

I agree with Plumtree - judging by that dead end move by Steyn - he is not a centers backside.  Shit - he fucked up badly and you invent  excuses - that beats it all.

I have watched it again, there is no way in hell the Sharks would have scored, not even close. Frans was good in the way he beat defenders - that impressed me. It was a breath of fresh air after Bosman's predictable unimaginative crap.

You keep agreeing with Plum, while the Sharks keep losing, for that is what they will keep doing if they retain a useless player like Bosman at 12

He is neither slow and looks fit enough to me. My son walked into the room and said he thought people were saying Frans was fat, he had a good laugh about that when he saw Frans take the field.

Keep Bosman at 12 and the Sharks will keep losing

I have had a good laugh at what you wrote.   If Steyn was not slow - why was he absent from the scene when Jordaan had that long run of about 50 meters and when tackled off-loaded the ball to Reinach - and there wer no other players Reinach could pass to?

If Steyn was so good - why do Plumtree prefer Bosman to him?   Do you think that with the Sharks under pressure Plumtree will make a fool of himself and damage the team he is responsible for by not selecting Steyn?  I think other than the weight and unfit issue - Steyn is buggering up the team by taking the wrong decisions and ending up movements like the one one you are defending so valiantly.

Steyn was the same last year for the Springboks with his constant and ineffective crashballing - so why would he have changed this year?
