Why should the Boks keep Morne Steyne ?

Because the boks are born to runner up and Steyne will perform admirably in keeping them there ,I do hope Meyer has cloned him as he is the perfect counter weight to any bok flights of fancy EG: ball in hand running rugby ! 

Dont worry about trying anything new thats not in the Bok DNA , forwards as mobile as the Maginot line ,kick for position to get a penalty at all costs bugger that fancy schmancy try scoring biz !Keep it as dull and unimaginative as possible and thats where Steyne fits in ,please ,please ,puhleeeeeease keep Morne in there , hes the ABS ace in the hole .

In a weird way I agree with you- the Springboks have some really questionable players that is of great help to New Zealand and other opposing teams.   Morne Steyn is one of  those - but he is nor alone in the category of All Black assists in the team.   There used to be Juandre Kruger as well and a new addition is Jacque Fourie, while a bonus for the All Blacks remains in the form of Willem Alberts.

Problem is we have better players in SA than the four mentioned above - but they seem to be institutions of poor repute kept in the team by a headstrong coach.   Hopefully those inequities would be eliminated during the coming year.
