Is it above the law of acceptance to criticiize Mr Francois Steyn when he had a very poor game and neutralized the Springbok backline?    A few murmers here and there - but no real comments.   Unless he had rid of the extra lard he carries - as well as do some real training to spped him up - he with all his skill is a negative and in that case we need another center.

Unfortunately Engelbrecht is not the answer.  He came on on Saturday and his activitties can best be described as those of a headless chicken.  Flutter around - but nothing else.

I have said over and over again that F Steyn is more hype than he is worth. He has massive talent, I won't argue that, but his attitude always was and still is his biggest flaw. He thinks he is so wonderfull that he can be a game winner all by himself even if he is fat and slow. And that just aint so. Talent can only get a player so far, they still need to put in the hard yards to be stars, and he just does not seem willing to do that. As a couple of folks have already said, it wasn't the scapegoat Morne Steyn that cost the backs any decent momentum, it was Frans Steyn.

I have never been a fan of the guy, but having said that, he could easily be a rugby great...... but someone needs to get his attitude in check before that can happen.

Fatty still played better than half the squad so he is way, way down on my "shit list"

Fat Steyn and Morne Steyn did not combine well against Argentina. Frans tried to crawl over the advantage line from a stationary position and was playing more like a prop than a center, and is hogging the ball as if it is his next lunch. Where was JJ playing when he got on the field- he did not get the ball once. Although that is typical for anyone on the wing

After watching the game again I must agree with you about Engelvrecht,   Kirchner got the ball twice in a back line move and did not pass to Engelbrecht - but preferred to craashball and lost the ball in the process.   Kirchner was questionable in the whole game.   However, must admit that in both moves, Francois Steyn was not where he was supposed to be st inside center and consequently there was no overlap that could have let to a fourth try by the Boks.

So Mike, whose fault is it then that we did not get the fourth try?

Hmmmm I know of a particular half back whom as a fatty and is now on the bench for the "ALL BLOCKS"....bhwaaaaa maybe Francois needs a reality check...Or maybe marriage is treating him well and his wife is a great cook.....As said previously it is all attitude and though it is important to much or not enough chanelled into the wrong area creates a "pre me donna"

Interesting. Elsewhere Morne Steyn is to blame for the Boks not scoring a fourth try.......................

Mike stop speaking kak. Frans did not have a great game, but then none of the Boks did, did they. Frans was our best back against England and your take on JJ coming on is the biggest load of shit I have ever read. Given he never received the ball once down the line, what exactly did you expect him to do playing on the wing????????????????

I read alot of shit from the likes of Beenkop and co, but your latest takes the cake - utter rubbish

Saffex

Glad to see you are back.   The blarney was especially meant for you - especially the Engelbrecht one.  However, seriously the problem with the backline was with Francois Steyn- he had a horror on Saturday,    You may say it is kak - but he is overweight and very slow.

I always rated Steyn highly - but I am not sure that unless he improves he would remain an asset for the Springboks.

By the way Jordaan is playing a blinder for the Sharks - he is better every game he plays in.   Don;t know whether you see any of the games - so I am just keeping you informed.
