probably HM panicked, seeing how close the match was, he decided to bring in fresh lags to up the tempo; it didn't work.

Awesome input there adder. Really insightful. Riveting stuff.
It was clearly a mistake. Maybe a lack of experience showing itself.
No matter ... reckon Meyer would have learnt from it. We as a whole learnt a lot from this loss.
We haven't hit our straps yet and already we're pushing the no 1 team in the world with our second rate play. There's a lot of promise and I'm excited for what lies ahead.
Bismark should be made our first choice hooker. Strauss is world class and we're fortunate to have him. He's not a Bismark though.

Bismarck was substituted simply because he wasn't effective. Not sure why exactly but maybe the pace of the game found him out but I was watching him closely and he had zero impact on the game.C an't blame Meyer for going to his bench where the formidable Strauss was waiting.

Meyer the Springbok coach does'nt buy into all the hype though does he as he's not as neurotic and irrational as some of these Springbok fans.

It was almost as bad as Link subbing off Moore for Fainga at an attacking line-out 5metres from the tryline with Fainga badly mis-throwing!

I thought Coenie scrummed better than the beast as all the beast was doing was burrowing in instead of scrumming square! IMO Coenie is a better scrummager than the beast but the beast is certainly better in general play.

watch the game again and u will see the Bok forwards sucking in huge gulps of air, sucking in the big ones is a sign of ur fitness limit being exhausted.
but i think meyers subbing of bizzy was just a huge mistake, 5 meter attacking scrum, they should of just left him on, i would have considered subbing him of on the 60th to 65th minute mark, but not as early as they did.
i wonder if hansens subbing of hore for cole at the beginning of the 2nd half, somehow played a mind game factor with meyer, cos cole was all over the place on the field when he came with his fresh hurricane legs.
im sure after meyer watches the replays, he will realise that it was a mistake to sub of bizzy at that time.

so Sasu r u saying Bismarck's subbing off had something to do with Meyer's counter move against Hansen's substitution of Hore for Coles? Intriguing chess-like stuff.
IMO he wasn't thinking about Bismarck at all as he was just another pawn. I think that Meyers thought fresh legs and strength from Coenie and Strauss could result in a push-over or penalty try for the Boks.
