 Maybe letting go of Plum was a bad idea. Let us now wait and see what Plum can deliver at the Hurricanes

a good signing, still one of the better centres in SA. An excellant organiser of defence, probably the best in SA.Serfortein and Fourie would be a strong defence for the Boks.
 His pace will be tested  next year, but he may be fit from not overplaying in japan.He could get fit to SuperXV rugby to get back the fitness levels.

Cape Town - Springbok centre Jaque Fourie could turn out for the Sharks in next year's Super Rugby competition,Netwerk24 reports.

The 31-year-old, who has played for the Kobelco Steelers in Japan since 2012, is reportedly looking for a South African team to represent in next year's Super Rugby competition, in a bid to make the Springbok squad for the Rugby World Cup.

It is believed that negotiations between the Sharks and Fourie's management company - Union Sports Group - are at an advanced stage, although the Steelers would have to agree to release him.

An ankle injury has prevented the 71-Test capped veteran from playing for the Springboks in 2014.

Fourie's agent, Hilton Houghton, confirmed that the centre is considering a return to South African rugby, but added: "No decision has been made. Jaque will only return after getting the approval of his employers in Japan."

If Fourie decides to join the Sharks, he will be re-united with Gary Gold, who was recently named at the Sharks' new Director of Rugby.

The two have had a good working relationship in the past.

Gold is a former Springbok assistant coach and also coached Fourie when he was head coach of the Steelers this year.

Letting go of Plum was a disaster.

I have no problem with the idea of giid defense - but if defense becones the ability  and attack means zero - then the team is utimately doomed.    
In fact - I am extremely sorry for Lambie in this case.   If he ever pass the ball to any of those two - it will mean zero and members like Mozart will blame him for the non-functional backline,.
Fourie will have a full-time job trying to "organize" dewfense in the midfield - Fransie lets throuh too many players - he missed over a quarter f all tackle attempts - so Fourie will have to cover for Fransie as well.        

Dr Venter will have a full-time job in trying to get that backline functioning - but I am afraid he will fail badly as well.   
Must agree with Rooinek and biltongbek.   Firing Plumtree was a serious mistake.   He had one bad season - largely due to a horrendous injury situation - but over his full carreer at the Sharks he he got better results than the clueless White - with his kick and chase game got this year.   And Plumtree said of Steyn that he is NO CENTER and it was pro0ved this year he was correct.
Now putting those two  - Fat Fransie and slow Jacque into a backline - is really a joke in bad taste.     

 Well Mike if Fourie joining the Sharks upsets you, you will probably crap yourself if the rumour about Andries Bekker is true.
The only confirmed signing so far, Renaldo Bothma on a Super Rugby contract, is very good news,

I did not know there was a rumour about Bekker - if so - that would eb a good signing.   My problem is you cannot in Super 15 play a kick and chase gme - it utlimnately does not work.   The Stomers tried it in 2012 and the harks this year - both bcame unstuck against th Crusaders.   
I have no problem other than the dead backline a center pairing comprising Fourie and Steyn would bring to the Sharks.   It really is scary - to say the least.
