I almost couldn’t believe Henry didn’t make it in,” said Greenwood, who earned two Test caps during the Lions’ Tour to New Zealand in 2005. “He’s a brilliant rugby player and has been fully deserving of all the caps he’s earned since making his England debut in 2015.

….

Does this strong endorsement from the expert you trust change your view on Slade …Davie boy.

Nope not at all - Slade is good with ball in hand and has a good rugby brain but he is not physical enough and gets sorely exposed in contact and defensively I want to like him like I really want to like Similane of the Lions as he is simply sublime one on one with a bit of space. But he needs to muscle up in order to take his game to the next level Slade does not have what Similane has in terms of athleticism and feet but he does have a good rugby brain like Am does. Slade played plenty of rugby at 10, hence the rugby brain But his physical deficiencies outweigh his positives in today’s game which requires physicality at 12 and 13

So Greenwood wanted him in the Lions team because he has physical deficiencies that outweigh his positives. Hahaha…..you abuse your expert witnesses Dave.

Greenwood has every right to rate Slade, that does not mean I have to agree with him just like I don’t agree with Rassie selecting Orie, Mostert, Morne and Frans Steyn. There is no perfect world

Nothing to do with progress and everything to do with reality. If I selected my best Bok 23 right now no one would agree 100% with my calls.
