By General De La Rey

I might be stealing some of Blion thunder but Lions coach J Ackerman says he wants Jantjies back asap to start training with the Lions for their promo/releg match.

Now if the Stormers could win on Saturday that will really kill of any chance the Kings have of ending above them and thus there will really not be much more for the Stormers to do than to play for pride and start honing in on players who should play CC.

Jantjies apparently does have a clause in his contract that allows him to go back to Jhb before the end of Jul which is when the S15 finishes.
Problem is the Lions want him back before the 13 of Jul when they play their last warm-up against Griquas but the Stormers still play the Bulls on the 13 of Jul.

Now it isn’t quite clear if the clause allows him to leave when he wants or if he can return to Jhb on the 13 of Jul when the Stormers tournament is finished but it is still before the end of Jul. (Ag man we are a generous lot down here and wish the Lions well o you can hav ehim back. We will limp on without Jantjies).

On the one hand there is not much to gain for the Stormers keeping him in the Cape until the 13 th as he won’t play CC for them. They could rather start building a team for the CC. On the other hand the Stormers did pay a lot of money for his loan deal and might want all they can get out of him.(No No we have had all we want out him Ackermann. Please you have him!)

For me the Stormers should do the right thing and send him back the Lions have been nothing but compliant when ever a SA team needed a back-up and it might help restore some friendship with the union to the north. Things aren’t really to rosy between them. (Fully agree we must do the right thing!!! B sacrifical etc)

As for the Stormers they should play either van Aswegen, Dillan Leyds? or Swiel to see who should cover for the CC.

If I were the Stormers management I would play the waiting game either the Lions or the Kings won’t play SR thus either Demetri of Jantjies will not be able to play SR next season and I will wait and see who before trying to make a deal with one of them.

Sign up Demetri NOW!!!  Chances are these Lions can beat the Kings. CAT can come to SAs premier Province as the number 1 flyhalf. Crazy not too!  wy play for the queens in any case.

Get going Alistair!!!!!! Make right the wrong.

It was obvious in Saturday's game against the Kings that Jantjies is now a totally deciphered player. Well before he launched his cross field chips the Kings wings or fullback had anticipated the kick and moved into position. Likewise with the inside flip passes....there was always a tackler anticipating the pass.

What's left is a small guy with limited speed, no strength in contact, no unusual step.....and an unclear ability to kick goals under pressure.

The Taute/Jantjies trade has to go down as one of the most unproductive in Stormers history. But at least, unlike the Watson mega disaster, it will be over after one season.

Mozart I agree fully with your assessment on Jantjies and I think his signing wa a mistake - at the start of Super 15 I said he has certain problems in his game that would not benefit the Stormers and I went further to identify those. All of those were abundantly clear in Super 14 - I would save a lot of money and let him go. I am not so sure about Taute though - he had very little game time as a result of the Jantjies fiaso and his injury. I would keep him if I was the Stomers, His contract with the Lions ends this year and he has lareafy indicated a desire to stay on with the Stormers. They need good backline players desperately - so I think it would be wise for teh Stormers to keep him.

I hope so. Put him in a DHL box and ship him.  We got a Bulls left over youngster to put in the 10 role. Nappies or not balls to the wall boys

Grant is supposed to be back after June tests, but then off to Japan after Super Rugby. He wants to come back to WP / Stormers in 2014 without the Japan commitment so that could mean a contract for S15 and CC next year.

One would think van Aswegen will be CC flyhalf as he matches AC's game plan.
