Will there ever be another coach in SA like Rassie?

I can't honestly say that I like that Rassie can't put more than 5 wins in a row but if I look at the challenges he had win AA nonsense and being limited in who he can pick. Not to mention a bunch of star players going abroad and having to rescue the Boks after the AA coach Alister Coetzee complete car crash of 2 years. Only having 18 months to prepare the team and then walking away with a world cup. It looks like Rassie is finally finding his groove and loving life right now. 

His bok team is aging, but he is actively looking to build the team. How do you drop Pollard for a Rookie that barely played for the Stormers and now have played all of our test matches this season. Still not happy we lost to Ireland. I really would have loved to beat them 2 0 to shut the world up once and for all. 

What I notice about Rassie is that he has been in SA rugby system for some time now. First helping snorre as bok analysis, but before that he helped the cheetah to a 2 currie cup wins back when the currie cup was still a competition. Then going to the Stormers and finally turning them into a winning team. He then gave the rains to Coetzee and Nienabet while he worked on the back ground setting up the your structures. Those very same players are the players that helped him win 2 world cups. Etzebeth, Kittshoff, Malherbe etc were all part of the U21 team that he built. 

Some politics at WP forced him out and he worked with Sari. 

The guy has always been embedded in SA rugby at all levels. 

Will we ever find another coach like him

Rugby geni us is rare to find - but Rassie sets a very high bar  for others to set their similar high standards' as their objective.

The ever increasing trophy cabinet speaks volumes.

I have been following Rassie for some time and way back stated that Rassie and Nienaber should take over the non reigns along with Proudfoot. They did and we saw the results. 

I'm still not sure about the new shake up. He still has to deal with affirmative action policies. I don't think we will ever see a white team play for the boks, but why would you when you have guys stating the smash the door down. Maybe a bit harder amongst the forwards, but definitely in the backs we have enough talent. 

But if you look at AM, Bongi, Mpimpi, Nkosi, Kolisi, those were the only decent black players he could choose. They weren't the best at the time but he worked with them. I also think his game plan was to play low risk rugby and just stick to the basics and use the boks forward size which is predominantly white. Am came into his own given that he was at the kings and so was Mpimpi. They didn't really set the world alight. Beast was our best import from Zimbabwe. 

But rassie took time out and work on his mobi coaching unit and looked at all the youth players. 

Now we have players like Jan Henrik and SACHA coming through. Rassie knows these players because he spent a lot of time building those youth structures. 

Unfortunately the baby Boks misfired due to having to have Bfana, but they are changing that now with a seasoned coach. 

I also see Duanne has now taken over from Rassie and could probably be our next SA coach. He still pop up on the side lines for bok test. 

Just wish Rassie could get rid of Stick and Deon Davids. 

JP Pietersen seem to do well at the Sharks Currie cup team 

Davids is ok I remember his Kings side playing a good brand of rugby with limited resources

I remember that as well but I'd like to see him coach at a lower level before I make a call. Stick is useless.

Mozart wanted Coetze replaced  by White - but SARU knew bette and appointed Erasmus as Directi of rugby.   That was enough to get Mozart starting  on a campaign over the last 6 years to discrdit Erasmus.    He hates what Erasmus did and and did not mind lying as long as he could use it against Erasmus, 

He has the same mania hatrd against Du Toit and that one went back to 2012 when Meyer decided to plead with Mattfield to come back from retirement.  When some of us criticised that utter stupidity of Meyer  on site and mentioned Du Toit as a possible  replacement  Mozart started his hate campaign against Du Toit. - and it gradally washed over to De Allende and Kriel in 2015 as well.          

The maul gambit and the rush defense….sounds like chess but it’s not. We have the best young backs in the game and we still relied on the maul to win against NZ last Saturday. And once again Lady Luck and opposition bumbling rescued the team. But Father Time will be paid in the end.

Experience is winning these close games not any clever tactics.
